Quoted from Hazoff:

I really like Aliens but the original just has something special going on, best of the all the films for me but then again I love Star Trek The motion Picture and a lot of folk disliked that film, not better than Khan but close. Who am I kidding I love them all.

Agreed. I think both movies are great, but Aliens took it in more of an action flick direction. Not that its bad, just a different feel. Aliens never creeped me out like Alien did. Of course it was all fresh and unexpected the first time - and I was still a kid. Nevertheless, Alien will always be my favorite by quite a bit.

Quoted from RobT:

The script/writing for Alien was better than Aliens. But Aliens had more action and even some humor, and the special effects were better by then. Alien suffers a bit in that the SFX don't hold up that well. But clearly Alien is a great all time classic, and Aliens is an incredibly good sequel.

All true, although for me some of the SFX "issues" (especially Ash's head) are all part of what makes it great. I do like the humor in Aliens, especially Paxton. And while we're talking Paxton, anyone else love Frailty?? He killed it in that one too.

I liked the floating flipper and the shots that set it up and the shots it fed into. The original layout was very well done (or so it appeared). I hope some of those ideas remain!

I'm excited to see progress but I've really changed my tune on showing work product. I was in way early on WOZ and thought I'd enjoy the process. Looking back, it was a freaking beating with all the MMQB and second guessing going on here. Extended delays aside, the dead space between updates just lead to more critique as people look for something to talk about. I've reluctantly realized that I think Stern has this right. Reveal nothing at all until the package is complete. Show it and capitalize on the wave of frenzy before naysaying sets in.

I know this won't be a popular opinion and I don't like it much either. But I think there is something to it.

I must admit I was more than a bit skeptical after Nordman dropped out. The wisdom of jacking with his design seemed sketchy. However, I do like the changes and I'm even more excited about this pin.

I'm also encouraged with the reports about FT and its speed and flow. I enjoy both stop'n go and flow based games, but I'm just not a widebody guy at all. WOZ has enough going on that I can overlook it, but I figured it would be my one and only widebody. Hoping I'm wrong because Alien looks killer!

Quoted from colonel_caverne:

What means " backhand"? ( sorry for my question)
or i don't understand what is The aim.

Backhand is when you hit a shot on the left side of the playfield with the left flipper or on the right side with the right flipper. Typically done from a cradled position.
