Quoted from Aurich:

Guys, it's no big deal. There's no way to predict me waking up in CA to post some images vs someone taking a pic of a flyer at a show across the ocean. It happens, I don't care, we're just having some fun together looking at things.
It's just the bare playfield. It's going to look pretty different populated and lit up, so no reason to get too picky about how it's presented now.
So moving on, let's take a look at the mode inserts.
As was correctly guessed earlier there are 3 branches, all laid out with the motion tracker layout. We're going to use the RGB LEDs to do a blue "pulse" through the inserts to simulate the tracking, maybe just for the attract mode or something, should be cool looking.
Each branch has 4 modes or multiballs, and then a wizard mode. You pick your film to start the game, and then you need to finish the 4 modes for that film (just start them, not complete) and the wizard mode before you can move on to the other film.
Some things will stack, but this isn't a big stacking game, the modes are about atmosphere and the film, so they won't all jumble together.
The Weyland Yutani inserts are the inlanes, and you need to light both to qualify the mode shot.

It's an updated Space Invaders

BTW — I'm not going to respond to every comment, but I am reading it all, positive or negative, and I have thick skin, so if I don't reply to your criticisms don't think I have hurt feelings or anything. I dish it out, I can take it.
Just no point in getting into back and forths over stylistic stuff. I made decisions based on what I had to work with, and while I definitely don't mind discussing it there's nothing to be gained by going too far down any hypothetical roads, so just going to skip that.

Loving the Independence Day 2 playfield, just needs some Jeff Goldblum giving you some shit Aurich

The overall look is similar to Rob Zombie and Woz with the main Alien large by the flippers.

I'd be all over this if the LE version used HR Geiger assets and artwork.

Quoted from stpcore:

Great to catch a glimpse and see some game play at Expo tonight.

HA, that's me playing. That's my arm band and jacket.

I came away from the game very impressed. Yea, a few things on the game were missing mechanical wise but it played nice. It immersed you into the theme and damn the sights and sounds are really good. Brian Dominy on code is doing great, Aurich art is good and Thiel is naling it on sounds !
It's a prototype I get it. I think Heighway wins for the pricing market on all these new games coming out. I like the direction the game is going and it had lots of stuff on the playfield. I'll be looking at adding one once things get further along and I see more.

I've been playing 3 hours straight, just got mine set up late after driving 3 hours round trip to meet my other friends at the shipper depot. Got the first 3 games in Minnesota.

Powered the game up and away I went to immerse myself into the game !

Thank you to the whole team Heighway crew. HUGE thanks to David Thiel, my god the sounds, music, effects and call outs are simply amazing ! This is a dream theme and it's a dream to play.

I've seen and played the prototype at expo 2016, and Texas 2017 and it's so nice to see this finally shipping. This game is a certified hit. There is no reason this shouldn't sell huge numbers as it's so well done.

The layout and shots are fast, smooth and satisfying. Such a breath of fresh air.

Out of the box I seemed to have a xeno jaw/tongue issue as the tongue was not retracting completely and hanging up on the jaw. After going into xeno test and hit calibration I could watch the position from 0-400 ? The first 2 attempts jumped then try 3 and 4 the scrolling of numbers was smooth. Seems my potentiometer position switch was sticky. Now it's working fine.

Very happy with this purchase. Thanks to Cointaker and Nitro pinball for the collaboration of getting these games stateside. Crank these pins out and sell sell sell !

Comet the pinball cat give this 2 paws up !
Assholes and elbows ! Love the code and the Bill Paxton call outs.

Quoted from Join_The_Cirqus:

The wire harness that comes from the backbox comes down right where the zeno mech retracts into. Make sure the wires are out of the way of the metal tongue in back.

Good point that's true I will check that, makes sense.

Come'on guys, where are the gameplay videos?!

On facebook

#17977 1 year ago

I don't know if it was mentioned before but the playfield does not come with any mylar anywhere. Placing a mylar strip on the ball kick out, around the magnet and also at the ramp ball drops on the out lanes is a must, Also mylar in the pop bumpers is also recommended to protect your game.

Needs a Cliffy protector. I hope one gets made.

Yup interior EL lit side blades are an option upgrade on standards.

Base model standard gets reverse screen printed acrylic blades. Which is nice by themselves !

I'm digging this game !!!!!!

Have one helluva last ball !

Quoted from swenny:

Finally got mine up and running other than the xeno. It's a fun game when it works.
This is what you can accomplish when multiball never shuts off. I finally got tired of playing and shut it off. I've had it happen several times now. Wondering if this is a stuck switch or possibly a code problem. Anyone else experience the same thing?

Funny you mention this yes hyper sleep multi-ball is attained through hitting the left upper ramp with the right upper flipper and locking three balls I just got that multi-ball for the first time today and it was endless the scream again lights were flashing and kept spitting out balls, I had to shut the game off so it's definitely a code bug. Basically the scream again ball timer never shut off, that needs to be addressed in the code update.

I've never experienced this during the normal Xeno multi-ball hitting the two targets up the center there.

Quoted from PinballRulez:

Most probably the case as both Aliens pins present had the same blurry screen.

They must not have pulled the protective film off the LCD plastic Playfield insert.

It's die cut and hard to tell it's even on there.

Many people experience the Xeno tongue issues. Not staying home, gradually over time of gameplay it comes down and the mouth jambs.

In regards to the stepper motor, example the spider in scared stiff back box or Smaug in the Hobbit. There is a low voltage applied to the motor in code to hold its position at all times.

This is not the case in Alien. Once the tongue retracts and the home switch activates the motor is inactive and the tongue is free moving. This is the issue that is giving many users problems.

This could be taken care of in code.

Just my .02

Quoted from VividPsychosis:

Also, maxing the game volume? I can’t have it above 5 without it causing sound to loudly go through my entire house.... the sound system on this game is serious, no idea how anyone anywhere could max the volume or even have it above 5 or 6. I can easily keep it at volume 1 and it’s louder than most pins I keep in my home. I have it currently on 3 which is, well intense enough and drowns out the flipper scream.

Agree on the Soundsystem I own Williams, Spooky, JJP and Stern and I've heard nothing comparable to what Heighway has put out. The sound system, amplifier and speakers in this game are amazing !

Finally got around to updating the code to v1.1 and it was smooth and easy. Game continues to be a favorite and very happy with this purchase.

Quoted from legionsoup:

Has anyone heard from Cointaker lately? I called last week just to see where they were at, and they said a container of Alien LEs were on the way. Seems like there's a steady trickle. Hopefully each batch has a more robust build than the previous.

Just spoke with cointaker yesterday.
Next shipment container coming in by end of this month. 45 LE models as well as warranty parts and plastics, facehuggers etc...

#20074 1 year ago
Quoted from Pale_Purple:

Wow 45 LEs and not one for old money/people who have been in for years? Ouch

I never said that,

I was told these LE's are going to existing customers old orders new orders and a few to Nitro to Canada

#20078 1 year ago
Quoted from bemmett:

I'll say it, I received direct communication from Heighway admitting they were sending orders out for new money and admitting I was one of the first in line and paid for an original LE. Weird thing is I don't have an LE and am not in these ones going out. The usual apologizing and hopefully they'd be sending "private" orders soon is all I got. I'll at least give them credit for flat out admitting they were filling new/other orders for money, at the end of the day I just want my game and want to be given some benefit for having paid first. Here's to hoping this is a positive sign of some games(LEs) actually going out and more to follow soon.

That does suck, and I feel for you man.
I know if I was in your situation I wouldn't be happy.

I think the only insurance for the United States customers is if you dealt with Cointaker directly on your purchase then your money is 100% safe.

Understandably so I guess a guy has to look at it as a business point of view and new money is needed for the company to stay viable and to go on, as long as games are still getting shipped and delivered I have no doubt that you will get your game it's just a matter of when.
