Full throttle is playing great, tight shots and tons of speed. But, lots of airballs. Can't wait for the seminar tomorrow!

Quoted from ronaldvg:

You should buy the big monitor in the backglass. The system is modular, if you do not have that screen, then you cannot use it. If there comes an upgrade/update that separates the video feeds either of the current games or future ones, you have the screen. I bought it for that reason as I intend to make use of the modular possibilities of the Heighway system.
Andrew believes firmly in the modular setup and we can only guess what he is planning, but I would bet on it that he will use the assets that are available as extensive as possible within the technical possibilities.
Bottom line: if you do not have it, the game cannot use it.

You can also buy the screen later.

Kits are supposedly going to be 60% of the cost of a full game.

These guys who post about how they are draining a thread sure are ironic.

Quoted from ShaneBolda:

How can you combine Alien and Aliens??? Alien is the one and only... they are 2 different films... one is a lame action egotrip remake and the other is an original horror masterpiece... the concept and art direction immediately clashes with itself :/

You are in the minority WRT your feelings towards Aliens.

Personally, I look at the inclusion of both movies as a benefit. As Aurich has mentioned, they will have more suspenseful modes for Alien and more hectic modes for Aliens. Sounds great to me, best of both worlds!

Quoted from davebowman:

Well, that seems odd. I would expect Mr. Heighway to honor the British-Danish bond, which goes all the way back to the vikings and later Lord Nelson. Boy, did we have fun back then. The fun peaked with Faulty Towers. We MUST attract a better class of people!

No Riff Raff!

Quoted from thewool:

In the US they pay sales tax by state and I think that adds up to 8-9% ? Someone in the US will know this better than myself.

Most pinheads in the USA don't pay sales tax, they buy from out of state to avoid it.

The Canadian government closed that loophole long ago, sadly.

The upper ramp return is definitely curious. Looks like they've designed the angle that's cut into the ramp return to dump the ball properly into the orbit while avoiding the plastics. Unless something else is missing from the picture.

Thumbs up for a Kodi dev. Kodi is the best thing in the world, after pinball of course!

Lol so many complaints about storing the boxed PFs. Do people not have closets?

Beacons aside, when are we going to see a live video of the Xeno head grabbing a ball.
Should be the first thing you show people if you want to sell games.
The wow-factor and reliability of this mechanism is fairly important.
hash tag: zero *ucks beacon

It has been shown and it looks pretty disappointing IMO. The mechanism looks like a stick with a magnet glued onto the end and it moves way too slow.

That's the only disappointment that I have with this game so far, but it's a very important feature as you stated. Hopefully it is improved on production models.

Congrats to the team! Can't wait to try one.

(If anyone in Southern Ontario gets their Alien and wants to show it off... let me know)

Question for those who have sent a deposit for alien... Have you been asked to send your deposit money via EMT or via paypal as gift?

The distributor in Canada will only accept paypal if the customer eats the merchant fees. Seems odd to me as they are not a friend or individual, but a company. Also, surcharges for accepting PayPal seem to go against the paypal user agreement.

Quoted from Dee-Bow:

a standard alien with the 27" monitor is $10500 in Canadian funds.. plus shipping to your door

Yup, 6450 up here won't even get you a used Stern pro.
