While we are waiting for Expo, here is some audio you Alien fans might enjoy.

My favorite podcast just did their discussion on the 1979 movie.

Enjoy.

Quoted from Alphajerk3000:

Anyone know if Ripley's voice clips are used in the game? They were suspiciously absent from the promo video.

I was just in the seminar and Andrew said that she is not, but it would not make sense if she was. The game is done from her perspective and she would be taking to herself.

Seminar was great. Good crowd and people seemed happy. Those guys really have a passion for this theme!

So now that that's done, what's next?

Congrats on the milestone! Looks like an amazing game and if I was in the market for a NIB, it would be my first and only choice.

Quoted from Lethal_Inc:

Please correct me if I'm wrong, if you buy a Heighway machine, and in particular the standard Alien, we will be able to swap out playfields and back boxes on future titles? The standard model comes with the 27" display?

My understanding is that you can swap out playfields and art. (Some extra computer upgrades need to be done for Full Throttle to get Alien)
Here is a the swap video

The back box LCD is something like a $550 addition and can be put in the standard model.

Thanks for the tour, very interesting! I have not been following HP for more than a couple months, so kind of courious why it seems like this is a complete brand new startup company. If HP has been already producing FT games for several years, seems like the production line would be already established and a bit more polished by now. Have they jst expanded or moved to a new facility or just looking toward the future? Just curious.

They did just move to a new location and Alien looks like it might ship a few more than their previous products.

So, I see this thread count spike and I get get all excited to read some good ole pinside drama and tired arguments. Instead, I find people actually getting games, posting pics, and helping each other out. So much disappointment and so little schadenfreude.

Congrats on finally getting your games! Maybe this is the real turning point for Heighway.

Hopefully the one at Alt Brew is still there when I head up for parent weekend at UW-Madison in November.

Quoted from FalconPunch:

Of course, the pinball community only ever saw the cheerful and passionate salesman and were happy to hand over their money.

I don't have any money in this game, but the guy had me duped. The hype was palpable and I was watching all the videos with excitement and went to Expo that year mostly because of Alien. I even loved the reusable cabinet. All the delays and problems were just another indication that pinball was hard. Andrew's charisma obfuscated all of the now obvious problems and chicanery.

I've never watched a scam like this unfold this closely and it worries me because I foolishly thought I had a better judgement of character. I will never be affected like those that lost money, time, or reputation by this travesty, but it does slightly tarnish the unbridled joy and wonder I had for the silverball. Reality 1 - Innocence 0

Maybe it was Paul Reiser's character that had the biggest influence on this game. In hindsight, maybe his picture should have been on the backglass.
