I think what Heighway is doing is fantastic but I do always have a little chuckle at the predicted dates. Someone should make a list.

Quoted from HeighwayPinball:

23 Standards are on the line. Parts are arriving every day.
We are flat out finishing the first 3 games for EAG next week. This is the major European coin-op trade show in Europe.
We aim to have 3 x Aliens there and 3 x Full Throttles.
With heavy snowfall forecast over the next 24 hours, we are hoping the roads will be clear as more parts are due to be collected tomorrow.

Wow, that is seat of the pants stuff! I hope you make it and don't have too many parts outstanding.

EAG starts today, is Alien there?

it is how it works in pinball
First games always go overseas, lol.

Such as the North Sea?

Quoted from Kneissl:

Pinball is a solid hobby money wise, but a weak investment in nearly any case.

Unless you're one of the hundreds of people who bought a few pins in the 80s that are now worth 5 times what you paid for them.

I clicked on the buy button and the SE says at the top that it's £5,650 but it says down the bottom that it's £5,100. I'm not really buying, just curious.

Another "100 games per month, coming soon" prediction. I hope they are very sure about that.

Seriously off topic.

Of course, I thought this was obvious and I didn't need to include the sarcasm emoji.

In America no one can hear your sarcasm.

Or almost $10,000 in the UK, where it is built. Crazy!

Wales, England, London, Holland, Netherlands, what's the difference?

#18961 6 years ago

Mixed containers ship all the time, it's an LCL shipment (less than a container load). They can also take longer to clear.

What ??? Last time I checked it was ?

Wales is part of the UK, which is in Europe but not attached to the European mainland.

Quoted from frolic:

If things have gone south since then, it's because of NEW mounting expenses and new money not coming in quick enough.

Killing the UK market won't have helped.

Quoted from HoakyPoaky:

If their business plan is more focused on getting that new money from UK/European orders, I wouldn’t be surprised if they skip North America shows altogether.

It only made sense in the UK when it was cheaper than machines from established companies.

It's probably best not to scratch your nuts when pointing out how reflective the screen is

#21321 5 years ago

Wow, that perfectly describes what is, hypothetically, happening here.

#21534 5 years ago
Quoted from take2-take5:

Thinking if we ever get a proper game to try and put current mess in the past, it will be the hobbit - looks like JJP got everything included with the license and is a really complete package. The theme is what pulls us towards it- but will do my research first this time!

I guess we would all buy brand new games, given enough disposable income but buying 2 or 3 older classics for the same money might be a better option.

#21556 5 years ago
Quoted from take2-take5:

The same game in the UK is more expensive than the US too. For example to get the Hobbit (standard edition) in the UK your talking about £7500!, I can see on the US market on pinside you can get a hardly used Limited edition for $6700 that's about £4,900... I wonder if I can import it from the US, however it seems no listings want to ship worldwide.

Yes, the price difference sucks. This post might interest you if you are sold on a Hobbit though:

Quoted from Damonator:

There are no NIB in US - the last container of games before bankruptcy went to Australia. There were 24 in that batch I think and all sold within a month or two.

There were 1 or 2 left in Australia when I asked a few days ago.
