Hi at all, I am the owner of the Alien LE.

Thanks Tom for the posting.

In the system menu is the Build date 16/02/2019.
SW Version 1.3B3

I guess the driver on the IO Board is dead.
There is constant 70V on the right jet coil

Here is a pic

I have noticed some other small issues.
I haven't read through all the 486 pages yet.
But it seems some of the issues have had others as well.

1. During normal game (no ballsaver, no multiball, no add-a-ball) sometimes balls are added to the game.
This does not happen at all games, only sometimes.

2. When I hold the left flipperfinger, a bright buzzing sounds appears from the left coil.
The left flipper plays total normal, they are strong and the EOS switches are working fine in the switch test.

3. Some LEDs flickerering (e.g. Special) when I press the right flipper.

4. I had some reboots during gameplay.

Bytheway Alien is incredible.
Sound, athmosphere, light show, layout Wow!

Quoted from gold1:

This is what happened to my machine.Same fuse.Same solenoid. And a damaged IO board.

Thanks, and how do you solved it? New I/O Board and new Coil HPC-C020?
I'm worried it's gonna happen again...

#24299 4 years ago
Quoted from gold1:

Do you have other pics showing the machine. This build date is strange?

Here are some pics.
It is a beautiful Alien LE late production from Feb/March 2018.
On the computer is a sticker with V 1.1. from 07.03.2018.
The 3 big PCBs are labeled with "Pinball Brothers V0.97a

I also had a few resets (with full reboot + BIOS message) during multiball .
Can somebody tell me more details about the cap mod?
What parts are needed?

Thanks

#24452 4 years ago
Quoted from MK6PIN:

Caps are more for keeping proper current to the flippers, coils etc. to avoid sagging during multiball (this is for the 70v switching ps). My resets were coming from lack of juice on the 12v switching PS. ALOT runs on 12vdc in this game, including all lighting and the CPU, to name a few.

Thanks for your advise.
My flippers are very strong, no problem with them.

So regarding the sporadic reboots it makes more sense to change the 12V power supply for a stronger one.

Quoted from Oneangrymo:

Maybe keep messing with trough settings? Any other ideas ?

I had the same problem with the ball through.
Adjusting the strength of the trough eject coil did not completely solved the issue.

My solution was a extra rubber sleeve and a little repositining of the Heighway factory cliffy.
In addition, I have attached a metal protector to the wooden rail.

Quoted from Oneangrymo:

That looks like my answer ! Can u share which materials u got so I can order same?

Simply a normal black rubber sleeve post.
I have cut the rubber lengthwise almost down to the bottom and fix it at the corner of the plastic Apron.
So no screws needed

And a shooterlane protector.
Fixed with double sided tape. Also no screws needed

I have bought it here in Germany
https://www.pinball.center/de/shop/flipperteile/spielfeld-teile/protektoren/4244/protektor-universal-10

I guess you will get it in every store in the US

Thank you! I saw this, but i don't know where is this connector[quoted image]

This is the connector between the backbox and the cab.
It's in the bottom of the backbox.

Wow, look at these acrylic speaker panels... man your translite shines like a star, doesn't it.

Yeeees fantastic

Quoted from Maurice:

On my LE I have a persistent problem that keeps coming back: IO-board 1 missing.
I replaced all 4 usb cables that lead to the IO boards. I also bought a new IO-board to replace IO-board 1.
Still the exact same problem remains. I switch the machine off and back on after 20 sec: game works 100%. But never for long. Can take 1 game or 20, but the problem does always come back.
The usb cable seems to “wiggle” a lot in the holder/connector on the IO-board. Should I replace this holder to finally get rid of this problem?
Second: my magnet fell of the rod. Any advice on how to re attach this in a reliable way.
My game is being ‘tested’ at the DPO 2019 as we speak.

I have changed all the USB cables to premium cables and rerouted the cables with extra holders away from the other cabel stuff.
Yes the USB connectors on the IO Boards are fragile. I have fixed the cables with zip ties to minimize motion at the IO connector.

The magnet ist glued at the rod. I used an extra powerful glue to fix that.

I have met you and talked about the IO Boards yesterday on the DPO at your Alien.
Nice to met you and a very nice machine

You have still the thin milchy factory foil on the PF Monitor.
Is your Alien LE new?

Quoted from Faust:

I finished the last panels.
I have 1 set left and some grills in blue/green or black.
Who wants it?
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I am interested in a set of grills in blue.
How much are they and the shipping to Germany?

I also bought the fantastic Motion Tracker Mod (MTM) from Andrew.

But I did not like the mounting place directly on the shooterlane cover so much.
The MTM is partly covered by the PF frame and the frame presses a little bit on the MTM.
As an alternative mounting place I used the shooterlane.
I like it better like this

At least PET-G sets are available, do not buy single plastics .. might be old stock acrylic crap.

But the PET-G Set on the free-play.se site is for the PB Alien.

"Article no.: FP-PB-PSET
PETG complete plastic set for Alien - Pinball Brothers.
Most plastics are compatible with Heighway version also."
