Hi all — I wonder if anyone can tell me on here what the pin out is for the inductive sensor switches that alien uses? Is there a pdf manual available? I’d like to use some for a homebrew project but usually traditional reed switches just have two wires.. wondering why there’s so many pins out on the ones alien uses..

Quoted from Pale_Purple:

Of course 100% I just thought it was funny to have “fantastic very special game” next to “still unopened in the box” I don’t know what I would do honestly if I had a LE NIB right now, probably open it and keep it, selling my standard because I’m dumb and love this game. I wonder if there will be any truth to the rumors of more being made by another company. Seems unlikely but who knows these days.

I thought the more ironic part was something about ‘if you don’t love this game sell it to Someone who will’ — yet yours sits unopened. That’s all.

Do any alien owners have a picture of or know how the little reed/magnetic switches are wired under the Playfield? They have 6 pins - do they just plug into 2 3pin wire harnesses that are the switch/switch ground and then a ground and low voltage to run an onboard chip(s)?? Any info would be super handy, thanks!

Hi all,

I picked up some Of the little inductive switches that alien uses to try in a homebrew and am wondering if there is a manual for alien or component schematics/ pin outs? I couldn’t get it to register anything in testing today.. would love to know what the six pins are supposed to connect to, circuit wise..

Quoted from Per_:

Only 3 pins are used: +5Volt and GND for power supply and Out to signal a ball (active low, open collector). The other pins are not needed (in play). We replaced the ball detection in a Monster Bash with the Alien inductive switches, works well...

Yes!!!! Thank you!! Didn’t realize it had to be fed 5v to work, that looks like the key. It doesn’t matter which side of 3 pins you use? One row is labeled ‘j4’ on all of them.. thinking maybe that’s the side to use?
