Good idea, but she would become the Alien hunting us down for ROYALTIES.
Quoted from AMSNL:Oke I will upload the L+R side tommorow . The L side is wider on purpose you will see when you print. And they are long. So you can wrap the stick all around the bezel and then screw back in so the edges never will come loose . You can line her up with her lip almost at the screw . Always a perfect fit!
Now we don’t have to miss ripley! Only thing we need to alter 1.4 to 1.5 soft with more ripley sounds and scènes and a little bit more shaker and we have a complete game!
Wow impressive! Great job, now someone over here in states print them for me please please?lol
Quoted from Averell:Regarding this discussion I remember that someone from PB said there will be an upgraded IO-Board available.
Have heard of a revision 1.4c but never seen one... probably fairy tales?
Anyway, the IO-Boards in revision 1.4b do their work and I have never heard of anyone who has had a broken one in the last months.
Probably right on the "fairy tale" part. 1.4b very solid however.....
Quoted from AMSNL:Got this on my machine for about a year now , and I never shared it for some reason
I took a picture from Internet and remade it made a new back ground and some high res scaling. Then I printed it on verry thin sticker so it looked like it was part of the machine painted
I can share the PDF 600 dpi file if someone else want to make it or have it printed at the shop .[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Well done....great idea!!!
I already have the ramp decals installed ... they are a very nice alternate for the high gloss polished ramps ! I love them ! Looking great.
Thank you also for your work with the backbox decals and target decals.
I am looking forward to install them ..
Just waiting for the day someone make a regular backbox for the Alienwith this decals
Oke here is the link. Please share but don’t sell any of these in your store or online!
I also included all the original apron files and promo stuff, flipper decals, ramp decals etc etc
For the backbox decals you have to measure your exact Size incl 2 mm on top/sides/bottom so you can wrap around the metal frame . Also cut the image size to what you want to see. So more the front or the back of her helmet. Don’t resize the image or her face will be stretched etc.you can make her a bit bigger if you want to have her more up or down. I love the looks how I got here now,she is the middle of the monitor look up. Use the original file it’s 1000x6200 resolution you will get verry crisp image when print.

Ramp decals are a must...got a couple sets from ChipScott when he was doing them. Polished ramps ( like @Averell)....whole thing is sick!! ( not chrome looking mirror polish like PB).
Waffling on BB stickers, as all my custom powder matches now but they look outstanding!
Doubt a standard backbox could ever happen w glass magazine built as such. I've grown to really like it actually...
Fun to see things pop up on this amazing game every now and then....never know what might show up next...
hi,
Inspired by the creations of other pinsiders, I too started replacing the HP backbox supports.
I made them in 10mm polycarbonate by changing a few things on the plan compared to those that had already been done.
the problem here
the result, I have to put a foam seal around the speaker to avoid white light passing thru... and I think that it will be much better than before !

Nice....I've got a set made by Averell some time ago. Dealing w white light bleed with a light blue acrylic ring w lip to seal. bringing everything together. Speaker will glow blue, and keep the lighting integrity intact (not coloring other areas). Did the mock w gel paper and looked amazing. Been sitting at my plastics guy's shop for a couple months now...will shoot some pics when installed. I'm a lazy modder lately, as other things are consuming my time....
Quoted from AMSNL:Awesome! Looks good!!
Yes I have the same but with green leds around the surround like this then you speaker will light[quoted image][quoted image]

Wow! Thanks for sharing your work with us.
This may be a dumb question but what material and method did you use to print the backbox decals? I know it's not going to fit on an 8.5"x11" sheet.
Thank you so much !
Question: Why is there around the decal itself a large white area ?
Is this needet for any reason ?
Thanks
Tom .. will send them tomorrow to a online printer !

What white area? You just take the picture and zoom and cut size you need any white borders will vanish . But in my programs there is no white border ?
I will have a look what sticker I used . I have a professional Roland bn-20 printer special for stickers and decals
Hi,

Second one is on the next gen alien head with metal Gear

China crap most likely.
The spec. sheet is correct.
The stepper motor is not so bad and often used for 3D printers.
Normaly it works very well without any issues caused by the motor itself.
The most problem is the right setting of the switch at the end of the gear and the right space between the support bracket.
First check if you have the latest version of the bracket. I have had two ALIEN here with different plastic parts.
The earlier version is a bit sloppily made and has too much play and often colored white, so you should change this part and check it again.
You can download 3D file at Flippermarkt.de
https://www.flippermarkt.de/community/howto/cms/pages/bauanleitungen/alien---div.-ergaenzungen.php
Left original early part - Right 3D part made of PETG
!!!And don't forget to adjust the stepper driver on the backplate!!!

Yes i have the latest black bracket! Works fine for 1year with a 100% catch/release ball... But today motor doesnt moves tong correctly... Error : sw stuck (there is no Switch named "stuck"
I will change the motor, After that, what i have to adjust? Switch which is on the tong, and what is the stepper driver backplate adjustment? This is to have a correct lenght for ball catch?
Stuck means it hangs. It’s not the name of the switch.
Usually you just need to adjust the moving rod. It can get a bit loose so you have to push it back onto the gear of the motor. Remove the top of the Xeno head and look for the screws that tighten the rod.
I bet your motors are ok.
As I said...
... check the switch at the end of the gear because this can cause multiple errors, even if the mounting bracket is lose or the switch is malfunctional.
And be careful with the lever, so you do not bend anything.
The stepper driver could be damaged due to temperature and short circuit and the small adjustment screw is to use to strengthen the stepper motor more or less.
Spare of these stepper driver often have not the right adjustment, so you have to enter the service menu and move the gear with Loop while adjusting the stepper driver.
To prevent damage again, the heat sink should be glued.
I'm sure that the stepper motor is working properly.
You wanted support, here's the support, believe me.

Ok, thanks, i'll work on it this weekend, i let you know the result ! Thanks Averell and others
I have rebuild the alien head. It works ! I dont know why, but it works !
I notice that i have an early red board without heat sink ! Possible to find a New pcb pre-programmed ??
(On the picture the motor stepper connector is wrong turn...dont worry !)
I also have sometime issue with i/o board 1 missing... I havent change original USB câble, can it be the problem?

Wow super easy
Hello all,
after the experience with the maintenance unit and now with me, with occasional resets of the machine, I ordered a new 12 volt power supply.
This one has around 30 A and should provide a more stable function.
Is quite cheap to get at Amazon: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07F2939RR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00
Note: The picture at Amazon shows the device for 24 volts!

are you sure? because a mean well power supply is more expensive...

That's a great deal, but the 450-12 @ 37.5 amps is a much better unit and choice IMHO.
Your right on target, the Meanwell PSU is the only way to go!
Game is night and day on all fronts once you change the garbage ps out. Meanwell has several nice choices...given so much of the game needs stable 12vdc, it's the very first thing to address imho, plastics a very close second....
This power supply has more than double the power and is never operated at the limit, even if you have some mods installed. In addition, it is a new design with active cooling. The case is solid and cleanly finished, no comparison with the junk that Heighway has installed. It also costs just under a third of what the 450 watt version is supposed to cost. Furthermore, the power connectors fit like the original. For the power supply that is offered at Reichelt, the power cables are too short - take care!

i realized that and quickly drained the post.. apologies for the cross post.
