Andrew talked in his seminar at the DPO about a mini-screen at the mode-start upper left and grabbing the ball from the magnet with his tongue by an Alien. Not sure if those are still just ideas and in development, or if they are already tested, but I think it sounded cool. (if it has already been posted recently or long ago, I must have missed that).

Having played FT for the first time (flow... and more flow , screen in the playfield, sides, the layout and fun of the game), I'm really looking forward to Alien!

I will not, no. I'm not a Heighway employee and won't be touring around with Full Throttle. When it's time for Alien to be out we'll see how things go, not really worrying about that yet, we have a game to work on still.

Remember the Heighway backbox is narrower than older games, so toppers won't work if they're too wide.

This is one great movie with both theatrical and directors cut, the directors cut not just added scenes but also some re-arrangements. Both worth seeing.j

The reviewers recommend you watch the theatrical version first, as the directors cut may give too much away too soon.

At what point do people start panicking that the LE will sell out and they won't get one?

If Heighway announces that there will be no standard edition and all LE's will be sold at SE price, then I may sweat that I'll miss out on one.

For $1500 dollars you can secure a spot and your overall price will not be influenced by any exchange rate fluctuations.

Paid amount is refundable at any time before your game goes in production.

I have seen the (unapproved) playfield art and if you want to go for the LE I would advice to secure your spot. After the official public reveal I think the LE's will sell out fast.

Probably will be yeah. I think what he's saying is that once the art is revealed there will be more interest in ordering in general, so the LEs might sell out. I dunno about all that, but it's how I read his statement.

In the meantime I'm working on other things while I wait for the playfield feedback.

Is the LE playfield, toys, game and all going to be the same as the standard?

Yes for the most part. I think the only thing on the LE "playfield" that will be different is the fiber optic ramps.

But as far as gameplay goes both versions will be the same. If the LE gets some other goodies that we think up it will still be "fun" stuff, nothing that changes the game rules or anything. I'd call it more like the JJP model than the Stern model in other words. Not quite the same maybe but that's seems like a good way to think about it.

I hope the "LE" extras are purchasable by standard owners for the playfield at least... I really appreciate how Heighway is trying to take the JJp approach and make the standard and LE playfields and games are the same...

But Fiber ramps I feel are a must for all versions if there's going to be fiber ramps...

Look at TRON, the fiber ramps make the game, remove them and the game looks plain and bland, so someone in the community built a replacement that doesn't quite work the same. The price tag is hard to swallow and the originals can't be bought... Bummer

But 3 cheers for Heighway if they can offer Identical playfields for LE and standard.

But hope that the parts will be available to non LE owners if they just can not be the same

If memory serves Alien is going to have a combination of both Plastic and Metal ramps? This should make the Fiber Optic outlay presence on the playfield interesting on Alien LE. Guessing Alien LE will not have fiber optics on the metal ramps?

Been waiting to see the Fiber Optics on FTLE. Hoping Heighway, as a manufacturer, finds a way to make the Fiber Optic Ramps "next level" and do something unigue with them in accordance with their mission statement.

I believe every LE upgrade except the LE art and LE armor is available for the Standards. I think it would be smart for Heighway to make a "Premium" that was a Standard with all the LE upgrades as a package, with maybe a little discount for buying it all.

Would people dig that? I have no idea how that price would compare to the LE, but you'd have to think cheaper, no?

I'm pretty sure I read that highway plans to make all the LE components purchasable to upgrade the SE variants. The only thing different between LE and upgraded SE would be LE-exclusive artwork, trim and price (presumably more expensive to buy separate LE upgrades).

That way LE is still special, is the best way to buy if you want all the extras, but the SE variants aren't held back in any way if an owner so chooses. No point in Heighway leaving money on the table. Unless, of course, this structure aggravates LE owners — in which case perhaps there will be more cosmetic exclusives to the LE.

Might depend a little on what a heighway shaker, rotating beacon topper, and fiber optic ramps will cost separately, but yeah.

It's the "+ Much More!" I'm curious about... will that be Heighway Alien keychains, lanyards, mugs, beer coozies, flashlights and bottle openers? I would totally dig finding a Heighway Alien logoed toaster in that Goodie Bag.

As far as I know the price difference between LE and SE is for the greater part based on cosmetic. Functional wise you can upgrade you SE with all LE stuff for a reasonable price.

Will the LEs or standards be produced first?

I know for Full Throttle they are produced at the same time.
