Quoted from dung:Very nice, so per the pics my center black pcb that holds the io board is different. I have an extra plug on it where my power wire goes. It is 12v and not 5v. I will switch it, but chances are the optos are fried and will need replacing.
I don't know what circuitry is on the drop target board but if there is a 5V logic chip, it may be blown.
Do you have a picture of the topside of the drop target board?
Quoted from Averell:Any questions regarding rules of the game can be answered with the latest rulesheet.

What is rev 1.0? The manual?
Rules are for 1.2 code?
Yes, this is the first release 1.0 of the rulesheet and describes up to official software version 1.2.
There're also some new features for the unofficial software version 1.3 - this software is still under construction and not finished yet.
Take a closer look into the changelogs at the end of the rulesheet.

Thanks for the job. That’s great
Quoted from colonel_caverne:1X for one LV completed?
No, it's +1X for the first and then +2X through 12... this allowed us to tally using the digits of "4 2 6".

That's just such a great compilation of information...from movie/Alien facts to detailed info of the pinball machine itself...just awesome.
Thanks so much for creating and sharing that!!!
Quoted from BackAlleyMatt:I just finished making the open eggs version. Same material we made the originals out of and same wash on them.[quoted image][quoted image]
Badass. I ordered 2 of em.

Matt that looks insane!!! heading to your site now...I now must decide how many I want in "open state"
Quoted from ChipScott:These mini beacon lights were purchased and attached by the previous owner. There's a third one also above the Airlock LCD screen. The wires to these smaller beacons run through and under the playfield, are connected in a series to each other (sort of daisy-chained) via tertiary wire that ultimately connects with the large beacon lights that sit on top of the backbox.
In this thread, about 10 or so pages back, are some posts with URLs to websites that carry them...I think they're from Germany.
Here is the link.
What I do not really understand is the mount option and if it matters.
Quoted from ChipScott:Badass. I ordered 2 of em.
In fact I do not understand if it is for replacing bumper one or to sit as a decor?
Quoted from Ferret:Shoot the upper (Hypersleep) ramp.
No. It should be lit when the ball is ready to launch, and when you have weapons available.
Yes.
Yes... via a ricochet off the post that protects the bottom of the upper right flipper.
Complete X (adjustable) Lifecycles
Complete LV lanes when you already have 12X
Mother Mystery award
Finally the launch ball led works in test but not in play. Is it a bug? (Playing In 1.2)
In the same time I was testing, I lost some leds (2 eggs, LV, 4 others in upper playfields)...that went back during a play and worked properly. Seems weird to me.
Quoted from colonel_caverne:In fact I do not understand if it is for replacing bumper one or to sit as a decor?
Its a decorative pop bumper cap that can be placed on any of the three pop bumpers.
On one of my pop bumper caps I have a small facehugger coming around the top of it. It looks cool, but will make a lot more sense now than I'm able to get an "open egg" one!

I decided on one to start. I think having 2 "unhatched" with 1 hatched and ready to attack brings even more life up there. Can't wait to see it in person..
First set of panels are done and will be shipped. I received only a partially the items; the shop closed other work due to corona and makes now exclusively protective screens the coming 2 weeks.
Those who get a set get a PM with tracking nr.
I apologize for the delay for those who have to wait.

Completely agree and thinking the same.
Figured I'd put one in and keep a spare for future use if ever needed. So used to collecting "backup parts" for this game, it's become a habit!! Haha...

It worked for me in gameplay on 1.2, AFAIK.
I bought 3 of the eggs, so if someone in the EU wants one, PM me.
Also someone asked me about the ship: Its the USS Sulaco ship collectible.

Quoted from Averell:You will get a callout "Jackpot Scoring Event" and "Super Skill Bonus" from Mother.
You know why MM is my favorite game. Because I just can’t get enough for hearing « jackpot », « suuuuuuper jackpot » with some thunderbolt sound in background. So enjoyable.
Of course, Alien is not the same ambiance and the scary sound « closer to the Target » is a really succes in many MB in the game.
Maybe I would hear « jackpot » more often somewhere..
Seems we have to order again from europe .... too bad, several month ago I ordere "normal eggs" from Matt .

Very nice, can hardly wait for my open egg.
This is a beautiful mod for the entire game.
But what is that clear washer on the hex post in front of the open egg used for?

I think he has added it. Don’t have it on mine.
His pop bumper is really nice with the facehugger.
Quoted from Indypin:Does the new open egg come with the facehugger attached, or is that an added mod?
Was a facehugger I attached on with glue. I think it really gives a cool look!!
Can get it several places, but got it from this creature pack:
https://toywiz.com/neca-aliens-30th-anniversary-7-inch-deluxe-creature-pack/
The clear washer was attached when I got the game...I figured it was some form of airball protector from the pops.
Quoted from Averell:Very nice, can hardly wait for my open egg.

Hi, I am pretty sure the clear washer is to prevent airballs landing and lodging in that exact spot right next to the Xeno head up off the playfield on that plastic - I have had it happen twice in the last 2 months!! I was thinking of doing a similar preventative measure.
That's possible, but my suggestion is to reduce the bumper coil power -25 %.
The entire ALIEN power controlling is too strong and should be reduced to prevent airballs and/or damage to the plastics.
Here's my recommendation how to set the coil power (extract from new Rulesheet Rev: 1.1 - nearly finished)
Lowering coil power of 25%, I guess it is for a classic gradient?
What I also would like to be in the manual are all callouts (or the more as possible). English is not my main language and I would enjoy to understand what it is said and then the game better.
Quoted from ChipScott:The clear washer was attached when I got the game...I figured it was some form of airball protector from the pops.
Yep...do you have @kneissl's game? He's the first to do that, I believe...

I did the clear plastic below the bottom pop too, to help prevent stuck balls.

A silent pioneer, you were!! ( and gracious host when I was dying to play the game while hopelessly waiting on mine)...
You will be back in the club at some point....I'm confident!!!

Yessir, this was originally @Kneissl's game. I acquired it relatively recently from a fellow Pinsider. It's my second time to own this title and this specific game has been great. The only real change I had to make was to change the replacement coil at the right upper flipper to the stronger blue WMS FL-11629 coil (dialed in at 10% less strength), and now I'm hitting that hypersleep ramp like a champ! I'm really grateful for all the thoughtful care that went into this particular game before I acquired it. This is such an awesome game, and I absolutely regretted selling my first one. I'm so happy to have this game back at the house... I don't think I'll ever let this one go!

As long as pinball is my hobby, it will never leave. There's just too few of them, and the chances of acquiring a good one as years go by will definitely diminish.
Ohh yes ... Alien is something special.
Needet a new car, sold half of my pins, Ice Cold beer and Bowl-O-Rama and my Husqvarna bike. Pins only newer Sterns and Houdini. I do not miss them at all, still have my Alvin G.`s and some Lawlor Pins plus the Alien. Alien is the star in my little collection ... and 3 pinball fellows were infected and bought also an Alien after playing mine.

better be infected by pins than by coronavirus.
Great to hear there are some Alien remaining for sale...probably not the cheaper ones.
