Quoted from Aurich:The Heighway presentation is tomorrow night. Expo hasn't kicked off yet. I'll fly out tonight. Andrew should already be there.
Aurich, you are awesome sauce. Can't wait for info

I cannot wait for the presentation. My bet is Aurich's art work kicks the industries a$$! I would not bet against this young man, he has the "Eye of the lion".......Lionman!
Quoted from mesmashu:Good luck Aurich. Bet you're nervous as heck. You're probably going to have a lot of Stern employees criticize your work with their fake accounts.
STERN will just be terrified to finally realize that designers..... really DONT use Bevel & Emboss on EVERYTHING.
That said, Aurich... I hope you make Stern fill their adult dippers I cant wait to see it, I am sure it will be great!
Even if Aurich somehow manages to miss on the artwork, I'm still buying this game!
I expect the entire package is going to be killer!
Quoted from mesmashu:Good luck Aurich. Bet you're nervous as heck.
Nah, no worries here. In a cab out from O'Hare to Gweempose's spot right now. Gonna spend the next few days hanging with friends, meeting new people, seeing rad new pinball, and drinking. What's to worry about?

Like he forgets that the theme is Alien[s] and puts the the Nebuchadnezzar there instead? Or focuses on Jones, hero of Alien? Doubtful.
Quoted from jayhawkai:Or focuses on Jones, hero of Alien?
I really do hope there is some reference to Jones in the game even if not in the artwork.
Bonus points if you can figure out a subtle way to give the cat a pulse rifle so he fits better into the second film.

Jones in the game confirmed.
Quoted from Wickerman2:my prediction is X-mas 2016
I will go for Christmas 2015 as for the full reveal
Info to be edited as needed
1. Full screen option for the backbox.

3. Xenomorph spits the ball
4. Alien queen hidden by mode screen
5. Below is standard art
6. Engineer on outlane left side

%#!* would've liked to know that before I popped for the backbox LCD already in Full Throttle....this will be an option and supported for all their games?
Quoted from underlord:It's probably modular, just plug n play
The backbox screws onto the cabinet with wing nuts, and there is only a single molex and an hdmi that runs between the cabinet and backbox.
Quoted from way2wyrd:Like this. You can apparently retro fit if you have already bought
This is a great option, much better than a translite, should really pull in people on location.
Quoted from Wickerman2:So you would have BOTH, small LCD and giant?
Maybe giant, w custom artwork around it, w backlit leds
Quoted from solarvalue:should really pull in people on location
visiting a Dave & Busters, and all the huge LCDs all over the place, the painted translite for pinball really is archaic, if you are trying to pull location players.
Quoted from Wickerman2:So scores on the small LCD and animations on large?
Currently still mirrored. Plan for more on future games

Ironic that Heighway's original vision were pins without any backbox at all, to a backbox with 2 screens...Like my daughter always tells me, "Words have power!"

Good idea for another alternative option. Whose to say you need to install the backbox at all, save for mounting the speakers some where. All the information you need will be given to you right above the flippers.

They could go where the backbox was...angled towards player.
Andrew didn't say what the price was to add the backglass monitor. IMO, this should be included with the LE versions from this point forward. Or at least on Alien LE and after...
But thumbs up on the change - it looks much more polished than just the static art.

Man, he did! I was in the room. He said it would be around $500.
Nice to see the original style "Alien" logo being used.
Is that rather sedate picture of the egg the standard backglass? First pic in #2370?
Thx man!
Quoted from Aurich:Busy at Expo but if you have questions post them here and I'll try and get you answers.
Cant wait to see a detailed photo of the BG.

Seems like hands were tied by Fox on using the egg and ALIEN script...but in regards to the border, the bottom portion starts off asymmetrical and becomes more symmetrical along the sides into the top...Starts to look kinda mirrored, especially with the skulls in relative positions. I think more randomness within the border would be fun.
Great. Interesting to check the differences. Most obvious to me are the stars. Did you try to match known constellations?
Are they located so that the LED strips behind may give some twinkling effects?
Any "blinking" star such as Algol (Beta Persei), a well known variable star?
Backglass is absolutely gorgeous!!! Good stuff guys...good stuff. Love what I'm seeing. Here's an Alien whitewood flipping vid Heighway posted back in Feb to give ppl a basic idea of the shots again (not saying this is an exact representation of the playfield shown at expo). Wish I was there! Enjoy and have a drink for me.

Back glass vs monitor is a big difference. When will we have a compare/contrast opportunity? Photos, video, etc. of game with each, prior to requiring decision by purchasers, would seem logical and fair. Please post them when available.
As an aside, I truly hope Hudson is represented in the game audio and video. If "game over, man" isn't a call out at game's end, Jesus wept.
