Quoted from TomDK:@all: Our plan is to have one fitting set here before starting all sets. The first set will be send to a specific person to mount the full set in his machine. If he gives the okay, we start making all ordered sets.
I am in for a set!
This is wishful thinking, but i would love it if someone could update the artwork on the bottom (meaning the one the ball rolls on) ramp plastics and make it so that the parts where the floor is worn through are moved to near the bottom so that there is a little more visibility to see the ball roll under them, especially right below the upper left flipper.

Thanks again for doing these! Just ordered mine.
Quoted from TimeBandit:Will be up on my website in a few hours.
Ordered!
I also got finally around to installing the replacement LED lights. THEY WORK!! Not that I doubted they would - but I did question my soldering skills. Nice to now have an Alien with 100% working LED's. THANK YOU!!

Closer to $45 with shipping...just sayin (Still ordered a set).
Quoted from Astropin:Closer to $50 with shipping...just sayin.
Gee, thanks.
Yeah, sorry.. $26.66 for the set. Then $12 for the air mail option. You can spend $17.28 on the trackable version if you want. So $38.66 or $43.94.
$39 to fix the shit lighting on your $8000 machine..
Just,
Sayin.
And if I ever added in my time, god forbid, I'm of course negative.
Quoted from Astropin:Closer to $45 with shipping...just sayin (Still ordered a set).
No lights for you!!
Crikey, There's only one set left.
I'll be making more, but I ran out of LEDs again today. About ten days until stock is refilled.
Quoted from TomDK:News from the plastics:
My friend was on my place today with a full set of plastics. They are still on testmaterial for costs reasons. The print is like on vivak but the lasered edges will become better on original Vivak. However .. this plastics are looking way way better than original.
Little showstopper: The templates we are working with are from a very earlie machine. We swapped today slingshots, some small plastics and tryed the ramps. there are several differences in the plastics. Example: The production end of the right and left ramp are with an extra post where the ball drops to the playfield. There is a rubbersleeve to stop the ball and let it fall on the playfield. Our template was without that rubber. Also the first version of plasticramps were designed to be mounted with a hexpost to the upper post from the slingshots, this was changed in production for any reason.
The plastic left top in the corner is other than our template. We can see that they had many many problems with the plstics fitting in the game in the beginning. We will make the left top plastic like prototype with print on it .. looks better.
So we are trying to sort all this differences out before making one batch. Due to costs we might be offer 2 sets: A full set and one with all expect the ramps. There are hell lot of plastics in Alien.
So I will swap some more plastics the next days, my buddy will fix the small problems we figured out so far.
Some pics ...

Nice work. Looks great. I'll be in for a set too.
You may be wondering why I mounted the capacitors so far away from the LED..
So that there is room to place a lens over the LED if you so desire.
You can fit the lens to the top LED before installation, but will have to do the second one after as the board won’t fit through the hole with the bottom one on.

Bit harsh considering I ordered a set.

oh well, I will be ordering when they are next in stock.
great job

Does the lens make a significant difference? I'm not seeing them on your site - are these available somewhere?

Not to light output. They do create more spread, and add an aesthetic quality. But I would say ultimately down to personal preference. I got them here..

Yep. On it.

and suddenly you will make new led for GI to have lighting like totem LED?
Yesterday I managed to complete all four Multiballs and was expecting "All out war" to start. But nothing happened and all the other multiballs were reset. Do I need to complete everything to get to All out war? Thanks.
Quoted from tatapolus:Yesterday I managed to complete all four Multiballs and was expecting "All out war" to start. But nothing happened and all the other multiballs were reset. Do I need to complete everything to get to All out war? Thanks.
I was under the impression that all out war was never completed unless there was an update to this?
Quoted from QuickSilverShelby:Does anyone know of any LE's that are still available for purchase from a vendor?
QSS
Maybe RS Pinball in Austria or, for sure, Vegas Store in Hamburg/Germany but this guy asks 1000 Euro more just for profit.
The next leg of the journey to fix the GI. Here is a very long and boring (not to me ) video of my above-playfield bulb installed right next to a light pipe for comparison.
Any performance issues you might see are due to the camera. The colours are perfect, but so bright compared to the surrounding GI that the camera can't handle it properly. The surrounding playfield looks very dark because I have throttled back the exposure to almost zero to capture the colour.
Any flicker or wobble is also the camera. The bulb is perfect and throws ridiculous amounts of light. You know, like normal GI does. Light pipes are just NOT a good idea. Put them to rest, manufacturers.

Very interesting. I can see updating some in key locations, but I'm not sure I'd be up to replacing all the GI.
Quoted from Oneangrymo:I was under the impression that all out war was never completed unless there was an update to this?
Well, if you search this thread for "all out war" there are people that have finished that mode. Can anybody please let me know how to start it? Thanks.
Quoted from tatapolus:Well, if you search this thread for "all out war" there are people that have finished that mode. Can anybody please let me know how to start it? Thanks.
You need to start all multiballs, AND play all modes (both the Alien and Aliens movie modes). Then All Out War is qualified.
Quoted from SunKing:Very interesting. I can see updating some in key locations, but I'm not sure I'd be up to replacing all the GI.
A lot of places it won't help because the positioning is behind solid ball guides. That will get the plastics nice and bright, but won't help the playfield. I'm targeting all the places that are able to throw light out to the sides and be useful.
I should be getting some more I/O boards next week. They are $250 shipped in the US, a bit more than that to send international. Shoot me a note if you're interested.
Thanks,
Chris
Facehuggers arrived today!!
They look awesome, thanks Daniel
What a miserable experience trying to change them out.
The tiny bolts were rusted so i had to cut them off with my roto tool.
The whole assembly is a huge PITA to pull out as well...
Anyone know where to get new tiny bolts and nuts to replace? And what size?
Thanks!
Join_The_Cirqus haven’t attempted this yet.. what did you do to get your assembly out?
Quoted from TimeBandit:Here’s 50 seconds of video that will change your expectations for the GI.
While testing with the new plastics I figured out , as shown in your video, that the left plastic is hold only by screws. So you have to fiddle the rubber in .... bad work.
here is my solution with posts .. looks little strange due the posts are longer.

you can get the right size posts from pinballlife
Quoted from knockerlover:haven’t attempted this yet.. what did you do to get your assembly out?
Just remove the two spring washers below the playfield by turning a small screwdriver in their gap. Then unscrew the whole slingshot assembly (3 screws) and lower it down. Now you can move the bent arm together with the facehugger away from both shafts. See pictures.
Btw the tiny screws are not rusted but Heighway shortened them with a side cutter, which ruined the threads.

Any idea what size screw will work to attact the new one?
