Quoted from joelreeves:Alien booth. Almost our turn!
Looks good! Don't forget to get that other beacon on
Edit: I officially blame this epic posting fail on my dark macbook air screen. and my old eyes apparently. And anything else I can come up with in the future.
Quoted from Manic:Looks good! Don't forget to get that other beacon on
Looks like a fire alarm and not a beacon. LOL
Quoted from StylesBitchly:Looks like a fire alarm and not a beacon. LOL
EDIT: I see what you mean...lol Yeah I thought that was one of the tall skinny beacons on first glance. I think this photo was a conspiracy to embarrass me!! Damn my eyes are worse than I thought.
Quoted from bemmett:LE artwork there to be shown and get the LEs shipping out?!
After Texas they are going to need to get production ramped up, if the game plays as good as it's looking now I can see a lot of new orders coming in after this weekend.
Quoted from joelreeves:So many shots! Very sweet machine Andrew and co. have put together here.
It does look nice!
Quoted from Bongiorno:Any le news or images?....
Not yet, but he has a presentation at 4pm on Sat. I spoke to Andrew for a few while he was getting the three machines set up. The machines arrived just before the show opened and Andrew was scrambling to get them set up. All three looked new as he pealed the protective film off the LCDs and side art. I was one of the very first to play today and loved It! My hand however didn't help with my game. My wife liked the game very much and I think I have her blessing to buy one now
I think I found a good replacement for fiber optic lighting. This is more expensive than El wire but looks to be superior and at a much lower price point than fiber optics.
"The OpalDrive module includes a rechargeable lithium ion battery which stays powered for over 24 hours on a single charge. "
How are you converting it from battery powered to hardwired?
Quoted from Wickerman2:How are you converting it from battery powered to hardwired?
Charged with 5V via micro-usb. Should be easy to add to a cab.

Why don't you just order the fiber optic add on. Am I missing something?
Quoted from jonesjb:Why don't you just order the fiber optic add on. Am I missing something?
Yes, about $670.
Quoted from Wickerman2:You plugging it in to a service jack?
I'm not doing anything with it. My LE comes with fiber optic ramps.
Quoted from nephasth:I'm not doing anything with it. My LE comes with fiber optic ramps.
your next game may not, it was rhetorical. How is a plug in USB going to work?
Wires can be cut and spliced. You want a specific location to grab power from? Won't know until I get my game. But power can generally be robbed from a variety of locations. If you don't want to rob 110V, 5V could probably be tapped into from somewhere. Depending on how much you value a warranty...

How are you converting it from battery powered to hardwired?
Yes, it runs full time off a usb brick, or a battery
Someone, if you have the capabilities, please record Andrew speaking at TPF today. It would be really nice to hear what he has to say. I know we're at the pivotal "is it about to ship or what?" stage, and I'm sure we'd all like to know what the outcome of his time to speak at TPF is about.
What? Just a white cabinet with the words "Alien Pinball LE Artwork" on it? Kind of on the nose and disappointing.
Can someone ask them how the 3 Aliens have been holding up so far? Guess each should have seen about one day's worth of use.
Ok so i may not post pics publicly. What Andrew showed were examples of artwork that was either scrapped or art that hasnt been decided yet.
The art is solid and the audience consensus was that they liked the aliens xeno for the LE.
I like what i see but since there is no official approved art ill leave it to that

Okay here you go. A few notes from Andrews presentation and Alien LE artwork (sorta) revealed.
Fiber optics to be unique and revealed in a few weeks. Alien has 50m of wire, FT has 18m. Only one playfield box will fit under each cab. Games 3 and 4 are licensed games and designed by Oursler.

Any hints about upcoming themes or timetable for future releases?
Quoted from chucksmith:Thanks Lamprey, I've not seen these before.
Just to clarify .. its 3 bucks if you buy 50 or more. Its $8 for 1.
Check the site for qty pricing.
LOL, good catch. I remember spending about $5 each when I bought a bunch of them a while back. I saw the "$3" and thought that they just had lowered their prices since last time I bought. I guess not so much.
Quoted from jonesjb:Supposedly Heighway is adding a Bill Paxton tribute to the pin.
The Paxton tribute is already in the software as part of the Combat Drop mode.

Truly a classy move

No, sorry.

I don't think Andrew will be doing that again. No more announcing anything other than games ready to deliver, I'm hoping.
I like the LE Queen back glass art in the video they are not using. Interested to see what they decided on that's better!
Quoted from frolic:I don't think Andrew will be doing that again. No more announcing anything other than games ready to deliver, I'm hoping.
dedicate this year to Alien sales while developing the others and maybe have something close to ready for next year...
Quoted from sed6:Alien has 50m of wire, FT has 18m
FT has it all around all the ramps(and the entire game is ramps!)...how in the hell are they cramming that much in there!?

He must be referring to the games overall wiring, FT ramps cant be 18m long if each ramps side/edge was laid out in one continuous line & Aliens ramps are not nearly 3 times longer surely
