Quoted from j69:A refund should take a matter of hours. Over a month is taking the piss
Took me three months to receive my TH refund from JJP
No excuses but Andrew has had a bunch of turnover.
Hopefully they get these pins out and turn the tide

Quoted from Cheeks:His point was you shouldn't have to resort to posting in public to get a resolution. Things should get resolved long before someone considers posting in a forum about it.
no shit...my point was, it worked! If we lived in a perfect world...
Quoted from HeighwayPinball:I have spoken to Richard directly and apologised for the delay. The situation has been dealt with.
Spoken about but not dealt with. Like I said, I will let you guys know when I receive my refund. Andrew and I will have a conversation tonight I'm sure. I'll let you know how it goes.
Again, I apologize to Pinside for anything looking negative at this time, I'm as excited as all of you for the new guy to get these built.
Quoted from spfxted:Please keep us posted. Did you pay in full?
Deposit only Tedster.
Quoted from tp:Stop me from buying a woz, by giving me a reliable release date. I'm weak.....not sure I can hold out much longer and I can't afford both.
Dude. WoZ or Alien. I don't think I need to say anymore.
Andrew just sent me a refund, and he apologized. Andrew, there was no need for apologies. Other than email responses, you've been fine to deal with.
I'm hoping to pick up an Alien at a later date, as it looks beautiful. Good luck Heighway!!
Quoted from HeighwayPinball:We are often asked what the differences are between Standard Edition and Limited Edition models.
Here's our comparison chart, hot off the press...
Hi Andrew,
Is the EL Blade artwork as included in the Standard edition also included in the Alien Game kit?
I am also waiting for my refund since October last year.
First I love this project. Due to private reasons I had to cancel my order in September last year as Aimee from Heighway wrote me that there are only view weeks left to make the next payment. I was told sorry about the cancellation but I will get the refund till end October. But nothing, after several emails with no answer I got one from Jay, Heighway, that according refunds I should contact Andrew, but I never got an reply......
Refunds have to be dealt out promptly, otherwise people get scared and that leads to more refunds....just sayin....

Gollybob, you're a quiet one. Only 3 posts to pinside in 3 years. Got to respect that kind of restraint!
I think some of us that lost money with Skit-B have become skittish with our second payments. Hearing these accounts about long refund delays and email silence creates a little too much deja-vu. I'm ready to send the money in...but I'd like to see a little more of the game first, notably whats considered finished/finalized.
Quoted from frolic:The show started today, no one went? Wonder what is at the booth.
3 Full Throttles and 2 Aliens. Sadly both Aliens out of action all day. I did not go but know a few people that did. Andrew said board problems apparently.
Hopefully they will be working tomorrow as it would be nice to get some new videos of it in action.

Do you know if they're proto games or full production games?

Correct. In the morning techs were trying to get the Alien games going in the HP booth. In the afternoon the games were taken from the showfloor. Not sure that's such a smart move as now there were only flyers, banners, promotional plastics and a sticker available. I was wondering why not just do as Stern did with Batman: have the games present, show them so people can see the product and just explain the code isn't done yet (which probaly is true anyway). I also spotted an ad with different artwork for the game in 2 publications that are available for free at the show. Both the ad and the flyers say the game is shipping now... I still have to write my show report and will see if I can add photos. I was able to take pics of both Alien games at the show before they were removed. Hope for HP they will be back in their booth tomorrow.

And these are supposed to be shipping *now*?
Well, this should put a stop to the people asking for refunds.

These are supposed to be games that are "going home with somebody".

This is why I haven't made my next payment yet. Wishing Heighway all the best but who knows when the standard or LE's are going to ship. I have no problem waiting.
Here's a photo of one of the two Alien games of this morning. Not sure what the problem was and whether that is related to the playfield or something else. Notable changes compared to the games presented at Pinball Expo 2016 are the left ramp and the area above it and the small LCD replacing the Queen's Chamber toy.
Hey that looks cool! I see a hypersleep chamber that looks like a ball lock top left, the new screen and bezel look great as does the green rubber.
Also I didnt notice that the head was glossy last time, looks good, as does the backboard decal (which may have been there, just couldnt see it before with the pf not pulled out).
Where does the ball exit from the middle ramp? Back down the left rail (same as left ramp) or somewhere else?
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:tried to enhance
Thanks! That could very well be a physical ball lock. I believe I see optos in there which would make sense if its being used for a ball lock.
Quoted from 27dnast:I'm really curious to see what that sign says...
"Coming 20___"
What? 17? 18?
Haha that's just what I was thinking! Perfectly set up pic
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:tried to enhance
Well at least the mini screen isn't jammed right up to the alien's head anymore. That said, the bezel is still pretty large on that thing. It was the first thing I saw when I looked the PF pic.
Wonder why it doesn't have a perfect octagonal opening (since that's what they are going for)... it's off center and has that funny cut in it to make room for the number "2" on it. Interesting.

Looks a bit like this one

LOL!

The beacons certainly look more low-profile and elegant in the flyer pic... to me anyways. The tall ones they have on the actual machine look like they were re-purposed from some roadside equipment
But the game looks good overall... don't mean to come off as negative about it.

And this is why nobody should ever be clamoring to be one of the early games from any manufacturer. No matter how bad I want a certain game, I refuse to pay to be a beta tester on these things. I'll wait until the kinks are worked out before I get on board.
All this is only made worse by announcing the game so early and being SO late. Everything about this process feels thrown together. I mean, they can't even keep the games working on DAY ONE of a show, where customers were supposedly going to take those games home with them. Should this be surprising when Andrew was saying things would get done for the show because "new parts are coming in every day." That's a bit seat-of-the-pants for me.
I really wish they would just take a step back, say the game will be done in June, and do everything purposely and effectively, rather than continue to make arbitrary 3 week deadlines that get missed while they run around like headless chickens. Stop over promising and work realistically. Customers are quick to forgive missed expectations when it's a deadline but the company still shows some signs of forward motion. People will be much less willing to forgive Heighway if their letdown starts coming in the form a shit quality game in their basement, especially if Heighway's customer service / tech support is as timely as they process refund requests.
I don't mean to throw shade at Heighway, I really want them to be successful, but it just seems like they keep shooting themselves in the foot.
Those beacons look shit!!!!!!!!!!
The whole backbox just looks like a toy imo.
playfield looks good to me

Oddly enough... it IS a toy!

I'd think they could recess them into the top of the head some and it'd look more like the flyer.. but then again I dunno how much extra room's in the backbox

LCD bezel is just being true to original shape of Sulaco's airlock opening....
Later,
EV
