Quoted from tezting:

Do you have a link to your table so I can hear your T2 score/mix?

This is an older version of the game but skip ahead to the gameplay footage to hear the new sounds and music:

Quoted from thewool:

Good info there Slam, cheers for that. Reading between the lines does that mean that no original film score music will be in the game? Sounds like you have the second best thing though.

David Thiel is composing most of the original music for our game. There is a possibility that some of the original music may be used.

#5503 3 years ago
Quoted from SLAMT1LT:

Music can massively change the atmosphere of any game. Terminator 2 is the best example - in the digital world I was able to create my own version of Terminator 2 but removed all the original music and added Brad Fiedel's superb score (from both films).

The fact that you know who Brad Fiedel is makes me very pleased that you guys get it!

Very much looking forward to the Alien pin......

Thanks,
EV

When I spoke to Andrew in January, he said there'd be a mix of music from the film, re-orchestrations and original music and sfx. Of course that may have changed since.

...and JAWS, can you imagine this game without John Williams' score?

#5506 3 years ago

ok, back to topic....I am confident you will all love Alien, we have The 'A' (Alien) Team working on it. Lots of talent and lots of passion for the theme.

#5507 3 years ago
Quoted from SLAMT1LT:

I agree, all movie-based pinball games should have the original music and not an electronic mock up (which I hate).

I think there are really good exceptions to this rule, Spider-man being one of them. The original theme by Danny Elfman is great when you are watching the movie and it times well with the title sequences, etc. but it would simply not work well in the game with it's very slow build up and quiet lulls between build-ups. The music they created for the game is really good and better fits a pinball machine.I'm sure there are lots of other examples but that one always stands out to me.

Now, where is that video? I'm really on the fence about this game and can't wait to see more!

So what are the motley crew of remaining misfits working on? 0

geez.... why didn't someone just make THAT pin!

#5510 3 years ago
Quoted from SLAMT1LT:

However, we have David Thiel and his compositions for our game are fantastic. He captures the atmosphere of both films perfectly. And there's no one more picky about music in pinball than me.

That is enough for me to be convinced the music part is in very good hands I have seen David's presentation for The Hobbit and other videos about him that are available on the net. He is at the top of integrating and composing music for games.

I'm giving serious consideration to the Alien 35th Anniversary Edition. I think the large screen is an additional charge; are there other options to consider for the 35th?

There will be hardware options, as well...not exactly sure what will be offered..custom green powder, black, and chrome, I think.....the LE will have everything else included, to my knowledge ( fiber ramp lighting, beacons, shaker, etc.)...gotta have the big screen...

Thanks MK6PIN! So at this point, I would make my deposit directly through Heighway rather than with Melissa at Cointaker, right?

That's what I did, but I was an early adopter .........before they had established a US distributer....mine will be coming straight from Heighway.....

Lance Henriksen is an interesting man.

He dropped out of school and left home at age 12.
He was illiterate until the age of thirty, when he learned to read by studying movie scripts.

He was considered for the title role in The Terminator (1984), but was ruled out when it was decided that Arnold Schwarzenegger (who was reading for the role of Kyle Reese) would be the perfect choice as the Terminator".

He and Bill Paxton are the only two actors to face off against a Terminator, an Alien and a Predator.

Played the demo of zen's Alien pinball.
It's ok. The usual boring layouts full of blind shots and design flaws.

But the music makes all the difference. I hope HP's Alien has the original music.

If you go to any Asian/Indian video rental store, they always have New Wave Hookers with Traci Lords for rent.

Don't get caught with that video in your possession or on your rental list, lol.

New Wave Hookers is also perhaps the most sought after xxx poster, going from $800 to upwards of $2000.

The original version was removed from distribution in the United States in 1986 when news broke that Traci Lords was under 18 when the film was made. The movie was subsequently re-edited and reissued with the Lords-Cassidy scene excised and the box cover photo of Lords was replaced with co-star Ginger Lynn's image. This version is the one that is (legally) available in the United States today. - Wikipedia

Any of Traci Lords underage movies, including the original New Wave Hookers can still be found on the black market. I'm guessing very expensive for collectors.

She's a fascinating person in real life IMO and set off quite a scandal in the adult world involving the FBI.

I can't tell the difference, is this Lords or Lynn's picture? This is the one at every Asian video rental, and it sure seems to feature Traci's name prominently:

Looks like Ginger Lynn to me.

Traci Lords also has a past music career, mostly revolving around hard techno.
Her best known track in North America is "Control" from the Mortal Kombat soundtrack. Absolutely great track imo if you're into the electronic genre at all:

Just when you think this thread can't go any father off topic.......BOOM! Traci Lords enters. Absolutely crazy!
