I had designed a small number of Motion tracker mods for the original Heighway Alien pinball a while back.
Red_Devils asked me to make one up for him for his new PBB Alien so have decided to make a ltd batch for this new Pinball.

Older videos shown above

PM me if you would like to be placed on the list.

There will be a delay due to sourcing parts etc.

Ok we are nearing the first batch limit.

Red_Devils is kindly helping me out for a stable mounting solution.
Not having the pin myself doesn't help

I'm looking at mounting the MT on a clear using the pillar and shooter lane protector screws.
Any thoughts on the subject your all welcome to air your ideas and advice.

Have thought about lighting the shooter lane also using the clear.
But may shelve that due to time and added complexity.

OK I have reached this batch qty
EightBallTexas will place two for you as some people drop out.

#30 3 months ago

OK all parts on order.
Displays are going to be around 6 weeks plus to arrive.
I've opted for multiple deliveries so some may come in early.

The first batch limit has been reached.

Soon as all the parts have arrived I will PM contact details etc.

Thanks for the great response to the mod.

Will post update during the wait.

Have made the decision to have these MT enclosures to be professionally printed and polished.
Next stage to spray, add decals and clear.

I need one other person to test out the mounting plate for it.
Will involve printing template up and checking on pinball.
PM me if you have the time to do so.

Proto mounting plate designed with the help from Dave and Steve.
Laser cut by Col.
Thanks guys.
They will be receiving these in the coming weeks to check out.
Will be supplied with screws and posts.
In Acid green.
The protective layer is still on so does not look clear.
Sure the guys will post pictures if the fit is good.

Have played with the boot up sequence and added a fingerprint login video.
Will ask buyers what name they want added to theirs.
This will be fixed in code so make sure you want that name set.

Could be Pinside handle. Character from film? . No obscene names allowed

Quoted from EightBallTexas:

I Have always liked Supreme Commander...HAHA....I will go with something simple...." MARC" or ???. let me think on this...

When I receive the batch of displays in September and have them partially assembled I will contact all buyers and ask what they would like entered.

Quoted from Manny65:

Spunkmeyer, Vasquez and Hudson are classic names from Aliens ... I'm probably leaning towards Hudson as the name I'd use

Ive put "Pvt Drake" on the demo.

Can someone confirm the screw size for the shooter lane pillar please.
Think it may be metric.

Now question for all.

Do I stick with the Torx or go crosshead ?

#57 45 days ago

Ok agree will stick with Torx.

Other question is color of mounting plastic.

Ive made a test version in acid green but the tester suggested a clear plastic.

Im only going to have one set made so suggestions on color please.

Clear ,clear acid green, clear blue ?

Quoted from Manny65:

Might be hard to get the perfect matching green or blue, so leaning towards clear. What did you use on the Heighway version?

Wasn't needed as Apron different.
Sat on the cover of the shooter coil section.

Ok clear it is

OK nearing the completion of the first batch.

Also realised that setting a personal name on the Motion tracker fingerprint could be a logistic problem.

Thats me keeping track of units etc. I could cock up and send the wrong one.

So suggest we stick to a character from the film.
I would like Hudson but heres a list below of the suggestions noted before.

Hudson
Vasquez
Spunkmeyer
Drake

Quoted from brado426:

That's what I thought. For some reason, it isn't registering for me (ie: the screen just stays on the motion tracker animation... never goes to anything else) when plugged into that spare blade on the shooter switch. Not sure what's going on there.

Did you find the PDF attachment on all the emails I sent you?

Pull the plastic cover off the spade and check that the spade is making good contact to that connection.

#94 20 days ago

To all ,Just in case PB have changed wiring on the Shooter switch heres the correct connections.

Easiest way to swap the wires is to swap the crimped wires at the connector end.
Crimps are held in with a lever that you can pull up with a pin or fine blade to release the crimp.
Then just swap over .

Quoted from driph:

Beautiful mod! From what we've seen so far, does anything on the LV appear to interfere with the placement or install?

Not from what I've seen .
Apron looks the same.
Think the LV is pretty much the same pin but with a few extra features.

Quoted from Zablon:

I get Weyland while I'm playing...I get tracker while the ball is sitting on the shooter switch. I assume what you are referring to is that while in attract mode it should be Weyland, which I agree with...or it should just alternate...but I still think it's backwards during gameplay.

Which ever way I done it there would be someone who would think it should be done another way.

So Its the way it is.
