I am currently restoring an Aladdins Castle and this included complete rebuild of the ball count unit. I am not clear on what spacers you are referring to because from memory it was reasonably evident on placement. Shoot me any specific questions and only too happy to help including specific pics you may need. One issue I got wrong was to place the zero position pointer above the stepper bracket rather than below-that played havoc with the restart until I realised what I had done.

I removed the spider and took a number of pics Danny-hope these are useful. Firstly front and back of the spider.
