Quoted from pinballwil:Thanks, no but i know what your mean.
I think the square inserts gives you the feel, same with the outlane inserts.
Yes, also Genie location (ringmaster) and bumpers
Quoted from pinballwil:Time to fit everything.
Printed the graphics on paper to check everything.
Still have to drill the two holes for the bazaar targets.
And the opto's for the balsave in the outlanes.
Than seal the playfield with transparent paint.
Have to shift some graphics (carpet and make a wish graphic because the scoop has changed from position and reposition te carpet.[quoted image]
How did you handle the vanish tunnel and harem passage switchs?
The orignal design had 3 locks possibilities even if only 2 was used. How are you dealing with it?
Will you use magnet the same?
The 3rd flipper is interesting. Look forward to see more
Quoted from pinballwil:The harem passage switch is now a standup switch behind de genie and past the (Orb) outhole. So after hit the last letter it fals in the outhole to start the event.
De locks and switches are the same as in the original totan. So it works the same.
Vanish,
After hitting the last letter Genie the magnet grabs the ball on the genie (just like theater box).
when de magnet release the bal the same time the hatch onlock, bal drops true the playfield, coil close the hatch, hits the rolover vanish switch and drops in the scoop, and starts multibal.

I think your 2.0 software works fine in my version
Thanks for all the details. Sounds really original and I like the harem idea. I hope to see the 2.0 on it as well, I’ve my own homework to finish. I have a big update coming as well. give me several more weeks.
Quoted from pinballwil:Everything falls in to place now.
Ramp and crossover, and even small things like a flasher insert.[quoted image][quoted image]
Great. One thing: there is actually no « forty thieves » mode, this one has been replaced by flying carpet (there was a misspell in the proto PF) but the software callout is there and the flying carpet sequence is launched. A bit strange... Maybe this has been changes somewhere in proto phases.
Forty thieves is also Alibaba story.
For sure redesigning the PF is really interesting and look forward to see the drop target and else.
Disagree for the original ramp, i think it’s pretty cool with a nice move and 4 different exits.
Quoted from pinballwil:So in my version you have to work harder.
I worked on that too: forget saving the princess once every 3 games... That was the main issue on this game, being way too easy with this lamp...
The gameplay will change a lot with your PF: bumpers will be easily accessible but I guess some other target will change a lot.
The modes were easy too but if you found a way to create satisfying shot, sounds great. For my new modes I’ve found other ways to add strategies on gameplay. Ramp and genie were easy shot so I had to deal with that as well. The gameplay with Aladdin change will surely melt and make something new and refreshing.
Looks great so far. Can’t wait to see the next.
I don’t see the cages, those was working with opto, did you not use those ?
Also the left wire make switch work with the ramp caught with the magnet. Did you add 3 magnets as there was?
Quoted from pinballwil:This is how i make my homebrew playfield flat and shine.
[quoted image]
Thanks a lot for the video, very impressive. The playfield looks fantastic.
Quoted from pinballwil:Ready... this was the hardest part to make.
With sticker and protector.
almost invisible when closed.
[quoted image][quoted image]
That’s magic...
Quoted from pinballwil:My wife is working on some plastics.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Looks great !
Quoted from pinballwil:Translite is ready.[quoted image]
What’s funny is that the genie from totan is a bit inspired by the 1st disney movie after all so they are still really close
Quoted from pinballwil:New translite is ready.
Hope you like it like i do.[quoted image]
Great! Any possibility to add the princess?
Quoted from pinballwil:Haha, she's there.
You didn’t look long enough.
Yes! Just found it. Love it!
Quoted from pinballwil:Changed a few color things.
lighten up the princess, added the monkey and cleaned up the tiger.
So the translite is gold.
Nothings changes anymore.
I'am working on the wires next few months every now and then so nothing to show till then.
When the playfield is optically ready from above ill be back.
Thanks for watching
[quoted image]
What about the playfield plastics?
Quoted from pinballwil:She is working on it, apron backplate, ramp stickers, Genie sign, magic carpet/fireball sign, skillshot plastics That has to be developed yet.
So when ready ill print everything and show the playfield.
great !
Quoted from pinballwil:Computer mockup for matching the playfield color.
Translite now match the playfield color.
And the first look from the cabinet.
Only left side cabinet is final, front cabinet and backbox are not.
[quoted image]
colors are georgious!
For the tiger, I was more thinking of a jumping tiger or walking maybe. But this figure seems great quality.
Quoted from pinballwil:When ready its going to look something like this.
next weekend (sunday) I'll can show you the complete real playfield.
[quoted image]
It looks amazing.
Quoted from pinballwil:And the last one.
[quoted image]
No moving lamp? Looks fantastic
Quoted from pinballwil:2 post on the disk is to hard to hit the tigerloop.
It plays way better with one post. And the lamp is too heavy.
Sorry.
Maybe it’s the best way. I look forward for the first video of play.
Quoted from pinballwil:Finaly after 2 extra days errors resolving it powers up.
And can play with no inserts.
Have some power issues with te genie magnet its very weak. Ill check later on this week.
Strange. You have Ali baba music and princess voice with score display. Something ‘s wrong with the CPU.
Quoted from pinballwil:Hahaha.... No final battle is ready to start.
Did I missed something?. Once you beat the skeleton battle, the final battle start by itself launching multiball. If it was before the skeleton, you should have all the tales lamps blinking. which version ate you using for your test? The score display doesn’t seem right anyhow.
Quoted from pinballwil:It works believe me.
look forward for the video then once done.
Quoted from pinballwil:Its not perfect yet but its fun to play already.
If you think its to long start halfway.
That part is most interesting.
Enjoy and don't forget to vote for best homebrew of the year if you like it.
Maybe ill be "Back To (in) The Future" goodbye for now and stay safe.
Aside the fact that the Totan, this project is the greatest I’ve seen for a while.
It would be great that a company would grab this, and make a remake of your version.
The game is still way too easy though. The tiger loop seems even easier here than the original because the side loops are not that easy to get and are limited in time on the original. The consequence is it gives you extra ball easily. You could change that in the settings and make the game harder.
Also...
I love your captive ball. You should patent this. Did you use only one switch then to make it work? On the original game, both switches does the same but I have change that on my version.
Are the opto cage use at all already? I don’t remember.
What happened with the skill shot switches?
I love the 3rd flipper and the loop. The flaw of your version is amazing too.
Only thing is: the smoke lamp show and and bazaar lamp show seems a bit strange, I wonder if it could come from the led itself.
Last thing last.... this pin deserve a better sofware !
I would love to try your pin one day. Maybe in a pinball event sometimes....
You’re a pinball master. Congrats for your impressive work. Look forward to see more of this.
Quoted from pinballwil:Thanks, yes your right de extra ball is to easy i will ajust this.
The captive bal use only one switch in my version and it is sort of copy from Stern JP. De optos from the cage are in the outlane, when drain je get a new ball but the right side doesn't work they are broken.
So thats why you don't see them work.
The first two skilshot switches are under the plastic playfield (eddy switch) and the last(number one) is the gate so its reversed but follow the animation.
When complete ready i will make a better video higher res from the top.
I replace the lock magnet for a upost because it fits my version better and make same adjustments here and there.
And replace the shooter and tip(softer and shorter.
And better switch.
So are you are not using the outlane swith then? On the original it was one swith for 2 buttons. It activates the ball save and I assume you used the opto cage instead.
Please show the skill shot mechanism on the next video, I didn’t catch how it worked.
I assume you have only one magnet left.
Last thing, the « leftwiremake » switch was used on the ramp. Its only purpose was to check that the ramp magnet was working properly, did you use this one? Just curious.
