Quoted from stpcore:

Hey Pin Guy. Thanks for sharing that translite pic. I'm in the printing business and have printed some alternate translites, decals, etc for pinside members. I'm betting if I sent you a blank translite that you placed behind the current translite it would solve the problem of having the clear portion expose the LEDs and PCB stamp since my translite blanks are frosted. If you would like to PM me I'll send you a blank for free and you can install it to see if it's a viable option. Happy to help if you'd like?

I love all the unboxing!

Looks like they made an updated SOL protector according to another poster on Pinside. What's the best way to contact CGC to get the replacement asap?

File a ticket at Chicago-Gaming.com for support.

Got my AFMLE in yesterday. It scared me when the truck door opened and I saw the box, but it was fine. This is a great looking game! CGC has done a great job with this pin. WOW that topper is amazing and it's huge!!! You can tell I had to set it out away from the wall because my gameroom is upstairs above the garage, so my ceiling slants at the wall.

Wow, that box would have given me a heart attack!

Quoted from MrSanRamon:

Box top crushed, giant hole ripped in side of box & side artwork f'd up on at least one side.
So I refused the shipment and watched the truck drive away.
Not sure when I'll get a machine now.

Noooooooooooooooooooo

Quoted from MrSanRamon:

My distributor told me that the shipping company will send it back to the factory to be repaired.
So I'm thinking a couple months maybe; as I figure it could take a couple weeks to get the machine back to Chicago, maybe longer...paper work to fill out, etc, before it gets on a truck.
If they repair it, not sure how long that will take.
Hopefully I don't have to wait until all of the LE orders are filled, first. So much for getting S/N 34.
Robert

Oh man. I am so sorry. I hope it’s just a new cabinet and they can turn it around quickly for you. Talk about a buzzkill.

You’re welcome to come down to San Jose and play here if you want for AFM fix!

Anyone know what that translucent-ish plastic piece roughly .5"X3" is that is packaged with the A/C cord retention plate is used for?

That's the flipper spacer gauge. It's used to ensure the correct gap between the flipper and the top of the playfield bushing.

S/N 34 has been repaired at CGC and reshipped. Should reach the Hayward, Ca warehouse this Wednesday. Maybe to me by Friday.
Robert

That's great news!

Quoted from MrSanRamon:

I finally got my game, S/N 34...the topper box as broken, but the game was OK.
The truckers wouldn't let me see the topper, so I didn't get to actually inspect it. It just went back with the truck and I kept the game.
It's a beautiful game, glad this one wasn't damaged. Hopefully I'll get my topper soon, looking forward to the whole package.
Robert

Robert,

So sorry you’re having bad luck getting the whole game! Glad you at least got a beautiful machine to play finally.

Quoted from Concretehardt:

Is it worth updating the code from the factory install?

Yes. You get control over store brightness and diverter strength.

#549 6 years ago
Quoted from Concretehardt:

I guess you should see what code it shipped with as I already have strobe adjust setting.

Ah, there you go. Then you should be all set

Quoted from dashv:

I got AFM LE #21.
It’s the first table I’ve ever purchased and I’ve wanted AFM for over 20 years.
I tell the story of why I wanted it on my show here:
» YouTube video
I can confirm that PIC 2.0 is out because it came with it already installed.
Unfortunately the playfield itself still has the well known issues. Ball jumps the ramps. Left popper doesn’t eject like it’s supposed to. And one of my left flipper bolts was missing and the other was so loose the flipper barely worked.
Glad I found this forum (even though I had to pay $5 to post).
I have a lot of reading to do to get my machine to proper working order.

Sorry you’re having issues. You should turn the flippers down to -4 in the CGC menu and see if that makes the ramps work better. You can also I adjust the strength of the popper up if it’s not consistently making it.

Are you otherwise sorted out, or do you need more help? Have you spoken to your distributor or CGC about the missing bolts, etc?

#686 6 years ago
Quoted from dashv:

Popper strength for that one is set to max out of box so I can’t increase it.
I can try turning the flippers down for the ramps. It does seem like they have a lot of power.
The missing bolts I found when I opened up the machine. So my flipper mechanics are sorted.
The seller has been very responsive and helpful but I am in California and they are in the east coast so I need to either get up extremely early or take time off of work to leverage the support.
I’ve learned a lot more about pinball machine repair and maintenance in the last 3 days than I expected I would need day one for a brand new machine.
Still happy I bought one. Just hoping I can get everything sorted while it’s under warranty.

You have an 24-month warranty. You’ll be well sorted quickly; we will do all we can to help you.

Quoted from pinballinreno:

I thought the LE's have a 2 year warranty?

Math is hard. Thanks for the correction! I will edit!
