Now Mark we must give him time to get a cup a coffee, use the bathroom, mow the lawn, wash the car....

#662 1 year ago

Funny, no time for the coffee etc. (Darn, not my machine, but here to help)...but we noticed when going through the coin door/button option set ups, and I stated to my friend to push the up/+ button to change something and it didn't work, I said the up/+ was the third from the left....he said no, it is marked down/-, then we realized the label was incorrect.....I can not believe or somehow I missed anyone else stating that the label for the coin door service buttons are printed incorrectly from CGC......? For us that have been doing this for many years we do not "need" to read the label to verify, I guess...., but I could see it being a problem for those that are new and try to follow directions and actually read labels as needed.!

The other issue noticed and was previously posted was the LE topper assembly wires being as short as possible, it was a tight fit to get them all connected as needed. .....interesting that this is still an issue with the latest batch, as I thought that this was addressed awhile ago.....as the extra circuit board pin for another topper connector too.

Besides these very minor issues, I will state that it is truly engineered and manufactured very well.....the best..!!!

Mick

PS and the packaging for shipping couldn't be any better....Great Job again.

#663 1 year ago

Yeah there is no slack in those wires. I had one of the right saucer wires on the topper come off and I thought I was going to need a wire stretcher to get em back on!

#664 1 year ago

Yes we had trouble making the topper wires reach as well.
They did, but they are way to tight.

#665 1 year ago

With a bit of help from my old buddy TheMickster, we successfully unboxed and installed the new AFRr yesterday. I would have posted pics yesterday but we had to test it out for several hours. This is an absolutely excellent game and well worth the wait. I have also posted a pic of the button labeling that TheMickster mentioned previously.

Hi Guys - just got my new LE AFMr #691. Having issues unlocking the backbox in order to install the topper. The keys don't seem to work. Is there a second set of keys that i'm missing? Instructions just say unlock the backbox, unfortunately, the keys don't do the trick. Would love some assistance or point me in the right direction please? Thanks!

I got AFM LE #21.

It’s the first table I’ve ever purchased and I’ve wanted AFM for over 20 years.

I tell the story of why I wanted it on my show here:

I can confirm that PIC 2.0 is out because it came with it already installed.

Unfortunately the playfield itself still has the well known issues. Ball jumps the ramps. Left popper doesn’t eject like it’s supposed to. And one of my left flipper bolts was missing and the other was so loose the flipper barely worked.

Glad I found this forum (even though I had to pay $5 to post).

I have a lot of reading to do to get my machine to proper working order.

Congrats on #21. I know who you purchased yours from because I asked them what available serial numbers they had and #21 was listed. They had a few early builds (double digits) and the rest were in the 700's. I tend to lean towards the later builds because it allows for kinks to get worked out, but I requested #21. They said it was mine, but I received one of the later builds in the 700's. Mine is still in the box because I've got to get it upstairs.

I read your post and my first thought was that it could have been me dealing with the flipper bolts, lose flipper. Glad you got it sorted!

Enjoy your AFMrLE!

Sorry you’re having issues. You should turn the flippers down to -4 in the CGC menu and see if that makes the ramps work better. You can also I adjust the strength of the popper up if it’s not consistently making it.

Are you otherwise sorted out, or do you need more help? Have you spoken to your distributor or CGC about the missing bolts, etc?

Popper strength for that one is set to max out of box so I can’t increase it.

I can try turning the flippers down for the ramps. It does seem like they have a lot of power.

The missing bolts I found when I opened up the machine. So my flipper mechanics are sorted.

The seller has been very responsive and helpful but I am in California and they are in the east coast so I need to either get up extremely early or take time off of work to leverage the support.

I’ve learned a lot more about pinball machine repair and maintenance in the last 3 days than I expected I would need day one for a brand new machine.

Still happy I bought one. Just hoping I can get everything sorted while it’s under warranty.

As cool as it is to have a machine in the double digits I have a lot of reading yet to do to figure out all the fixes/tweaks I need to apply to get this up to the latest and greatest. So yeah, I’d say you dodged a bullet.

The owners thread has a lot of good information. But if you want a condensed version with the technical issues/fixes, check out the technical thread. Everything you mentioned has been covered with appropriate fixes.

Hope that helps.

I just purschased an AFM LE from Mike at Automated Services in Connecticut. He had all 3 trim colors available and I told him I wanted black, he said he had a couple and would get me the numbers. He had #23 #35 and #800 something. I asked him if I should get the higher numbered one because of kinks being worked out. He told me that they are not built in order and the number plaques after the requested ones are made are simply pulled randomly off the shelf and applied in no particular order. So technically #1 could of been built last. So a batch of early built machines could be any number out of the 1000. Just what I was told so the numbers are basically irrelevant in relationship to the build date.
