Just got a call from the delivery service! LE #151 with black trim being delivered tomorrow!

Green #403 being delivered here tomorrow!
Double unboxing tomorrow night!!
I heard from my distributor Larry at flipnout pinball and my machine has been repaired.
I was told that it was a simple repair (it was only there three days) and that it should be shipping soon.
Hopefully I can get it by the end of next week or the first part of the week after. I will certainly be glad to get my machine and this ordeal over with.

Congrats!!!! Quick turnaround it seems!!
Can any of you happy unboxers do a quick measure of the carton? Have seen some contradictory info in other threads. Trying to decide if I am going to be able to fit mine in the back of my wife's CRV. Can fit a Stern box easily enough, am hoping CGC's isn't much bigger.

Of course the LE also has the topper carton to deal with
I thought it was 33" wide. May be mistaken sorry. Topper is in that nice crate, so that may take remaining passenger area
Thanks Pin_Guy! I saw that, but there doesn't seem to be a consensus:
Quoted from Pin_Guy:Rounded up to the nearest 1/4" ... After you pull the carton off the shipping pallet 30.5" x 31.25" x 56.5"
but a few posts before was this:
Quoted from LTG:It's a couple inches bigger than a Stern box. I couldn't get it in my front door, I had to run around the building to the back door. I didn't measure but it's at least 34 inches.
LTG : )
And now:

Sometimes I wish I hadn't sold my truck... my plan will be to take it off its pallet, and take the topper crate off, just need to make sure the box will fit.
I was lucky to get that far with it without the wife going apeshit. Hate it when life gets in the way of pinball.

The carton is 31" x 31" x 56". I measured it 5x over because my sliding glass door only opens to 31". Of course the box couldn't be an inch smaller!
Okay, okay... I might be a little dramatic by saying this, but this is one of the most beautiful machines I have ever seen. I'm extremely happy I went with the martian green. It really "pops" and gives it a unique look in a great way.
I'm NOT a topper guy at all. With that said, BEST. TOPPER. EVER. YouTube videos don't tell the story. You HAVE to see it in person. The colors, interaction with gameplay, etc.
Alright, enough typing. Onto the pictures (that don't do it justice)...
This is the best game ever!! Sound is absolutely stunning, Topper is off the charts. Build quality is 2nd to none! CGC has there game on!

Hey, AFM95!
I don't think I have ceiling height in my finished basement to accommodate the topper. Seeing your AFMr sitting next to JP gives me some hope - the AFMr backbox looks to be a good measure shorter than JP! My AFMr will be sitting next to a JP as well!
Can I ask a huge favor? What is the total combined height, cabinet plus topper? I am reading there may be some additional clearance needed for the martian dude to do his thing when active. My ceiling height is just 83in.
Would love to be able to use the topper, vs leaving it packed in its crate until/if I sell the machine years from now.
Thanks!
Got a call from the shipper, sadly my pin did not fit on the truck after they loaded up their deliveries for the day Have to wait until Monday. Unfortunate, but I have waited this long, I can tough it out a few more days!

Hi MarkP,
Sorry to deliver the bad news, but the topper measures out to 84". With that said, I have carpet and those carpet movers on the bottom of my legs. Not sure what your flooring is, but that could add an extra inch to the equation. I think because my ceilings are 8', it gave the illusion that it should fit with plenty of room.
I'm assuming you don't have drop down ceilings since you mentioned a finished basement. Otherwise I'd say customize a ceiling tile. Also, the alien measures about 83" to the top, but it bounces up and down an inch or two, so you need clearance.
I hope you can figure out a workaround. Not able to use the topper would be a big bummer. Let me know how it works out and good luck!

The pinball gods have indeed blessed you sir.

If it comes down to just the bouncing inch or two, the martian can be disabled in the software. Its better it have it up there and at least benefit from the light show with no moving martian, then no topper at all.

Thanks! Your photo confirms - misses by one inch. Possibly can lower the levelers, but still think I'll miss by just under an inch.
Thinking of custom shorter alternatives using the topper wiring as a guide. Saucer mods exist that might work here and operate using the AFMr controller...
Thanks for checking

That's a bummer. bigdaddy07 has a great idea by suggesting to disable the martian. The light show is about 2/3 of the "wow" factor, the other 1/3 goes to the martian interaction.
You would think that pin makers would consider ceiling height for home collectors (since it's a bigger market compared to what it used to be). You are a prime example where 7' high ceilings could use a 81"-82" maximum height of a machine, including the topper. At 84", you are knocking out a good amount of buyers who can't use the topper.

You just "one upped" everyone on this thread!
Kidding aside, congrats on your two new purchases. Super jealous about the Star Wars LE. I'm interested to see how it plays different than the Pro model. Enjoy!!

LE # 132 picked up today. Looks amazing but unfortunately none of the solenoids work. Has anyone come across this issue? I would have to imagine it's a simple fix. Looks like all connectors are tight and plugged in.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to play this pin.
Quoted from Pmaino:none of the solenoids work.
I would be sure the high power interlock on the coin door is working, no loose connectors.
Then from transformer, into game, to board under the playfield, and into head is all plugged in tight. Check the manual, reseat power connectors going to driver board in the head. And reseat the ethernet cable to the board under the playfield.

Thanks LTG I will try this out and report back.

You got a fever and....
Quoted from Pin_Guy:You may want to open a ticket for that and see if CGC will replace it.
I did and Doug got back to me within hours....
Awesome game and awesome service!
Now back to saving the world!

Looks like the switch on the coin door needed to be adjusted. Everything works great now. Thanks LTG

Both games are awesome!
Had about 20 people over tonight SWLE got more play by far.
To be fair, AFMrLE is an amazing game but at its core its 20 years old and most everyone that came over had played the original version. Star Wars is the new kid on the block so it got all the love .
Quoted from MrSanRamon:S/N 34 has been repaired at CGC and reshipped. Should reach the Hayward, Ca warehouse this Wednesday. Maybe to me by Friday.

That's great news!
Called Automated this morning, my Black LE should be arriving at their facility ~Thurs this week. Hopefully, I'll be able to pick-up on Fri or Sat!
Decided to try a 4x8 or 5x8 Uhaul trailer vs unboxing in the parking lot and squeezing into my Jeep GC. Called UHaul, hard to get apparently, need to reserve ahead of time. Will not reserve until I get a firm date. Hope this will not be an issue

How about u-hail pick up truck?
Enjoy when you get it.

Trailer rental is crazy cheap, vs cargo van or pick-up truck. Trailer will protect the Pin from the elements, vs open pick-up bed.

You can cancel the reservation if you end up not getting it on the day you thought. I can't remember exactly how long before the pickup time you have to cancel. 24 hrs would be a safe bet. Might be worth reserving now so you have it just in case. Reserve it for the whole weekend, and you can bring it back early to avoid the second day if that works out.

Sorry, I forget about the elements (Live in California).
Hi Pinside ATFMer's
I am really on the fence about this...have been contemplating for a month. I had a mid-life crisis and bought a Harley a few years back...proceeded to dump it, had it fixed and sold it. I think I am just going to take the leap. I feel like I can afford it...just stings a bit!
Congratulations to everyone who just got one! They look beautiful! I had a chance to play an SE at CA Extreme last month, and it was clearly the machine I had to be torn away from. I am leaning towards an LE because I may never do this again, and if I am going to spend $7200, I may as well go all in and spend $8k...LOL/
This will be my first NIB machine. I have come close to pushing the button a few times. Any advice before pulling the trigger? You only live once....
Damagio
@Dimagio,
I would absolutely go for the LE. Unpacked mine today; the topper is just out of this world (har!). Seriously, the topper is gorgeous and the mirror blades just add that final touch. If you can swing it financially and you love AFM, you will have absolutely no regrets splurging for the LE.

Two words...
Quoted from Damagio:Any advice before pulling the trigger? You only live once....
If you can afford it, I'd get the LE.
From Standard, to Special Edition, to Limited edition. Each price point goes up $700. But for the SE you get huge display, enhanced sound system, tri color LED show on the small saucers, shaker motor and double the warranty of the standard.
For LE, you also get side mirrors, the most baddest assed topper out there, choice of trim - green, black, or stainless, and double the warranty of the SE.
So for each price increase, you get a lot of stuff.
Best wishes on your decision, which ever model you choose. You'll be glad you did !
