Besides MM, arguably the next best 2 classic games that have been remade by CGC. If you were in the market for one, which one would you buy and why? Both themes are awesome, simple rules, awesome call outs and awesome sound packages. CE standard remakes of the originals only, no SE’s or LE’s. Tough call.

I have both machines and I enjoy them a lot. If I had to choose one, I’d say AFM because I think it has better code and brings a little more variety.

I enjoy them so much that I’m now starting to consider MM.

I’ve played LE models of both games and they both look very stunning but being able to only afford the CE the bling factor needs to be taken out. I will say that of the 3 different MB LE’s I’ve played, the hits off dracs feet and the ejects from the scoop going SDTM are definitely a concern. Don’t know if the CE plays the same.

Any game with scoop going SDTM are always an easy tweak/adjustment of the scoop. This isn't the first time this has ever happened.

Since they are essentially the same game, pick the one that has the art/theme you like more.

AFM is the only 90s pin I haven't owned that I'd still like to. At some point I may move my Tron out for one. Monster Bash is a fav, lots of fun, but I had one for a few months and I don't miss it.

I like both themes equally. I think the cabinet, play field, and back box art goes to MB while code and rules I give a slight edge to AFM. Although I really like mosh pit mutiball. Jackpot call outs are superb in both. I guess it comes down to which one will become more stale in home use.

I just recently made the exact same choice that you're facing right now.

I went with AFMR CE.

It is awesome. Possibly the best ever. Software/rules are perfect.

I chose this over MB because in my opinion, AFM has the best balance of strategy, depth and interesting rules.

MB is also a great game though. You can't go wrong here.

I don't think either would become stale unless they were the only pin in the house however you could say the same thing about most pinball machines. I don't mean it to sound derogatory that they are essentially the same game, but if you look at the layouts, rules, etc, MM, MB and AFM are very very similar games so I would just pick the one you like most.
