I was having the same issue you describe and now my strobe works better then original. The strobe has a circuit board mounted underneath the cover on the backside of the backboard of the playfield. I removed the circuit board and sent it to Pinbits and Martin rebuilt/upgraded the board. I also purchased the enhanced strobe assy. that Pinbits offers, as well as the blackout board (which Pinbits also has). If that sounds good to you I would contact them first. Good luck!
