AFM: Slow recognising ship/saucer hits

Hi, Just recently my AFM became really slow at recognising saucer/ship hits. After the gate goes down, you can hit the drop target, it drops, but the animation/sound/points takes 2-4 seconds to register. The drop target stays down. It always registers eventually, but is really really slow. Usually you can get it back to the flipper and shoot it in the drop target hole before it registers and comes back up.

Its only the drop hits that are slow - the side targets are fine.

Any ideas?

Something is wrong with the switch for the drop down position. Take the assy out and it will probably be easy to see the problem.
