I have bought the pinbits large strobe light but it does not work. The old one work fine. I tested the pinbits light and it is not faulty. Any ideas why it would not work if the old one does?

Wait a minute.
1. The original strobe worked fine.
2. You tested the PinBits strobe and it's fine.
3. The original strobe works in the game, but the PinBits strobe does not.
Is that all correct?
Why did you replace the original strobe if it worked?
How did you test the PinBits strobe?

I replaced it because the pinbits strobe light is larger and brighter.
I tested for the new strobe light for continuity.
At one stage it worked but now stopped working again. None of these issues with the standard strobe light. Works all the time.
How are these strobe light operated. Are they triggered via a capacitor?

Yup. Two charged capacitors are triggered to release current to the strobe. The board is on the back of the AFM backboard. I wonder if you have a flakey connector at the strobe lamp board.

I had my AFM strobe board rebuild by Pinbits - It was quite a difference in performance.

I think if it would be a bad connector i would see the same problem with the stock strobe light.
How do i test to see if one of the capacitor is maybe not working.would the strobe light work with only one capasito?

I don't think it's a cap. I see no reason for the pinbits unit to NOT work given that the OEM unit works.

Do you know anyone close with an AFM you can test the new strobe in?

If you were in St Louis, I'd be happy to test it. Or if you need a board repaired, send it along and I'll test it along the way.

Thanks for the offer but I am on the other side of the world. I know it makes no sense that the pinbits does not work. I managed to make it strobe but when I reinstall everything it stops again. Very frustrating.

I can imagine. It's been ages since I installed my PinBits strobe. Can you access it well enough with a probe to ensure continuity from the strobe board to the actual strobe?
