Not a fan of the band but Iron Maiden is so good that it doesn't matter. Perfect balance of rules and shots. Long shots, short shots, ramps, loops, 4 flippers and balanced scoring with huge jackpots. The best part is that it can be attacked in so many ways that say, if your looping is on point you can focus on that, if you want to kill the ramps you can use that as a strategy. Modes, multiballs, spinners, nudging, skillshots, shatzing, risk/reward and wizard modes. You can go for high scores or achievement.
And there are very few cheap drains like you find in a lot of games - if you lost your ball, you know exactly what you did wrong to drain it. There is no ramp where the ball goes 75% up and then drains sdtm. There is no magnet randomness or pop bumper that sends the ball screaming helplessly down the outlane. There is no bullshit flipper gap, or unfair inlane to outlane rollover. There are no shots that become unfun to attempt because they are too tight and missing is instadeath.
This game was designed by the best player in the world and took years of thought and consideration, it's not some cookie cutter layout created by a team nor is it designed by someone retreading the same elements over and over in every new design. In short, it's a breath of fresh air from someone committed to delivering the best play elements to the best players.
All that being said just understand that the people that love this game, generally speaking, are people with a lot of experience playing a wide variety of games. The only non initiated who are attracted to this game are Iron Maiden fans. Most of your family, friends and kids are going to gravitate to something much more accessible. They aren't going to have the same kind of fun you will trying to crush the lower left spinner over and over in an effort to light REVIVE. They aren't going to go for Soul Shards, loop jackpots or Eddie cards.
