Just about done with my afm restoration. Just closing up some loose tends. Everything was working fine, but after installing mirror blades, I'm now getting a "right gate stuck closed" error. The gate mech is to working fine when I run the solenoid test (opens and closes perfectly). Can't quite figure out what this error is and how to clear the error code

Disclaimer: limited experience on afm

The game is not seeing the next switch after the gate that would normally register if the gate was opened and allowed the ball to pass on. So if the gate is actually lifting when it should and the ball passes through, check the next switch it should hit under correct circumstances.

Disclaimer: I'm an idiot sometimes.

Makes sense... Will check in the morning. Thanks.

Got back to troubleshooting this evening. Tested every switch and solenoid on the machine and all working perfectly in test mode. Even swapped in a new coil on the right gate. Still getting the right gate stuck closed error and credit dot. Checked all fuses. Reseated all connections on the board. Can't figure this one out. During game play, left gate opens appropriately on the skill shot, but right gate doesn't seem to ever open, but I'm not exactly sure when it is supposed to open. When is that exactly? Any further troubleshooting ideas? Thanks

Check the upper orbit switches using a ball rolling through at a quick speed. Might need to just bend the actuator up a little higher.

IIRC, hold the left flipper button in while plunging the ball. That should enable the flipper skill shot, which will open both gates so the ball can orbit around to the left flipper.

Hey Ninj
Have you tried the T.16 Loop/Gate Test? P 1-19 in AFM manual.

Wally... Thanks. You're a genius. Ran test 16 as suggested and the error cleared. Thanks
