I have a problem on my AFM (Attack from Mars) and was wondering if anyone could help me.

The center drop target stopped resetting when the saucer is being attacked. Before it would immediately pop back up when struck and score a flashing hit on the saucer until enough hits were registered and then stay down to allow the ball to fall into the hole behind it to "kill" the saucer.

The reason I am struggling is that both the switch and the coil on the drop target appear to be working.

When the game cycles for a new ball the target comes up (coil working). Also, I checked the switch on the test mode and it works. If I manually flick it during play it will registrar hits but the coil doesn't fire. It seems like the software logic is wrong but that can't be....

Has any one had a similar problem?

Hey I'm having the same exact issue. Did you ever figure out the problem?

Fix your switch on the bottom of the assembly. Check for broken wires, loose switch ( or fallen off ) and adjustment of the switch arm.

Assuming it goes up in Test, then go to Tests - Switch Edge - and knock the drop target down and push it back up. Going down the tab on the drop target should push the arm of the switch down closing it, and release it going back up.

Thanks I'll give this a try. The problem is intermediate so probably a loose or bad solder connection.

Or worn spot on the switch body where the arm snaps on.
