Quoted from Arcade:Aerosmith locks in multipliers.
But yes, there is no Tie Fighter button. (Probably would have been out of place
It's out of place on Star Wars. The game moves at breakneck speed the entire time but they want you taking your hands off the flippers multiple times throughout each ball. Total disconnect between design and code.
Quoted from MikeS:Give it another 6 months and see what people think then. I don't think people have spent enough time on both games and the code for SW is still really early and missing modes and features and they are still figuring out how to balance out the scoring. I'd be surprised if AS is still the favorite in 2018 and beyond.
Aerosmith will probably ultimately settle as a solid B title in the Stern lineup, I think. It's fun, but it doesn't do anything unique or special and, for those that care, the theme is a barrier. What it does do well, however, is it has code that is very well supported by its layout and vice versa. It has the right amount of depth for what it has going on in regards to shots. It's a very cohesive experience. But again, there's nothing super notable in the game. It's a very safe design, but it is fun.
Star Wars needs to be reigned in a bit on the code level to get to that same level of cohesion. The game is actually not that complicated, but it piles way too many things on top of another. Shots will often have more going on with them than the game can adequately indicate, and it gets very hard to follow, especially with how fast the game plays. There's still a lot to be done with Star Wars, but I think it's always going to be a love/hate type of game. There are just so many quirks that are either going to click with you or drive you off over time. It's not going to be a universal appeal type of game.
