How did I get a 32m super double jackpot? Was it for completing all the shots in the tbmb?

Quoted from Who-Dey:AS for whatever reason is being overlooked by a lot of people and they are missing out big time because this game is fantastic. Aerosmith IMO ranks right up there with any new Stern pin that you put it up against. It's that damn good!
I have been considering this game for a while now - this and DI.
I only have 1 pin(GB) so far so I have to choose carefully because this might be it for a while.
I have almost pulled the trigger on AS about 3 times now and chicken out each time.
Quoted from Who-Dey:I truly believe that you would love AS. It's best if you can find one to play in someone's house where you can hear the music and the sounds really good and let them explain the rules to you. The game is beautiful to look at, possibly the best art of any pinball machine that's ever been made and the shots are very satisfying and the rules are pretty easy to understand. There are lots of great games available right now, you have TWD, SW, GOT, MET etc but it's just whatever you like I guess. TWD is really and truly I guess the best one of the bunch but it's a hard game and intense like your GB is. AS is more of a nice relaxing and fun game. There are lots of good choices right now which makes it tough but that's a good problem to have also.
I got about 50 games on AS pro. I know the basic rules but not how to stack for major points. The most difficult thing for me was starting elevator MB. Work so hard to get it going then it's over in 10 seconds. lol
I like about half the songs on AS and can live with the rest. It is a beauty though!
What's so frustrating on GB is you can never tell what is going on cause the DMD doesn't multitask (yet?). For example when the ball is in the pops, you can't see the jackpot values - or anything else. That split second you get to look up, does you no good.
How does toy box mb work as far as super jackpots and amounts and shots you have to hit?
Sometimes I get 8m sj, sometimes 4m, and once I got 32m sdj but I don't know how.
Quoted from merccat:Hope so... stern of the union made it sound like it was in line to get started, but maybe that was to temper expectations.
I still like it a lot, and the glitches can be avoided so it’s mainly the details that are starting to bug me.
A. Outlane sound
B. Missiles (have yet to see one in nearly a year... not that it sounds like they even do much if anything)
C. An actual skill shot award, not just oooh you snuck one into an existing lock.
D. A real diagnostics display, not simulated DMD text only diagnostics that aren’t even really relevant for spike 2.
E. Adult content on = more than Jackey dropping an F-bomb once per 500+ games.... I don’t necessarily want sailor jacky... but a bit more that that so it’s every once in a while at least.
I’m sure there are things I’m missing but those are what tends to be at the top of my personal list.
All good things.
I would like:
song/multiball champions
ball save option when locking a ball but the toy box is shut
attract mode
more call outs
Quoted from cooked71:Cliffy's for... inside the kicker cutout for the toybox kicker
I didn't think these existed. Anyone have a link/picture?
Thanks.
Quoted from djreddog:To people just grabbing an AS, I would pass on the Shaker. Mirror blades look great and a Polk sub will provide more shake than a shaker motor
I just ordered this yesterday. Can't wait to hook up AS and GB to it.
Quoted from Bruce_Pickle:Is it possible to adjust the pop bumper power on an Aerosmtih Pro?
The power on my pop bumpers in the last month seems to have gone up for no reason and I couldn't find anything in the adjustment menu.
I'm wasting a lot of mode time when the ball gets stuck in a pop bumper mosh pit and the pop bumper skirts are chipping (3 month old machine)
Any help would be appreciated.
I didn’t think the timers counted down when the ball is in the pops.
What has everyone found to be the most lucrative song stacked with tita mb?
I usually go with rats. I scored 179m with it yesterday on a pro.
What scores/ songs are you guys getting?
Quoted from Pin_Guy:either DUDE or EMOTION should be ran with TITA, I go with dude in a tourney and Emotion if playing for Grand Champ score. Both the modes mentioned MUST be completed for the end game wizard mode.
What score can you get for just that song during tita?
I can complete RATS early during the countdown where I have 20+ seconds left everything is lit red. I've seen 3m per shot register during that time. So I got 179m for RATS plus 70m for tita. This game was the first time I broke 500m.
Can you get higher scores with DUDE or EMOTION?
Thanks.
Quoted from swampfire:My goal for big points is to bring in Walk This Way (full completion) with one or both ramps lit for 2x scoring. If you can put 3 balls in the toybox, that's 6x scoring, and remember you get another 2x for ramp combos. So 12x is possible.
So you start WTW and then start TITA or you already have WTW complete with super ramps and than start TITA?
Thanks. Trying to learn how to increase my scores. My best scores are 400-500m which seem pretty weak.
Quoted from WJxxxx:I completed Final Tour Wizard Mode.
I had double shot scoring on the scoop (where final jackpot is collected), I hit the final shot as a combo (score doubled again) and I may have had double playfield scoring as well.
It meant that a single shot was worth a little over 1.2BILLION when I collected the final jackpot shot which is the addition of all of the other shots made in Final Tour.
The points didn't particularly come from modes, they were just played to complete and move on. 2 Extra balls (one from starting 3 modes, and the other from Jacky shots).
Never managed it again though
So before the 1.2b shot, your score was roughly 600m. That makes me feel a little better. There just doesn't appear to be many ways to score lots of points.
Quoted from lodgingdolphin:Pretty sure I've heard Jacky drop an F bomb, but it's rare.
He definitely does. I've only heard it once but it was funny as sht cause the game was on location. When the ball shot of the lock and hit him in the head, he said "What the F...". We were cracking up.
My clear coat has eroded away down to the bare wood in a very small section of the lock. Should I put anything down on it before I cover it with a piece of mylar?
Quoted from djreddog:Get the Cliffy protector set.
I do have that installed now, but the damage is already done. (this game was on route before I bought it)
Will I lose all my custom settings when I update the code?
I am using a new USB drive. Do I need to format it or can I just copy the files to it?
Quoted from pinballaddicted:Yes you will lose all your custom settings and your high scores when you update the code.
Ensure your USB stick is 16gig and fat32 formatted before you start. Download all the files from the Stern site and unzip them before you drag the files over to your formatted USB stick. The instructions are all in your backbox.
Thanks.
The readme file said their would be 2 files but I have 3 files when unzipped. (2 being almost the same size)
Quoted from pinballaddicted:All good.
Yes I think there are 3 files. The updates are mainly technical, we did not notice much difference.
I was hoping this would fix the times it gets confused and can't seem to locate a ball. This happens when a ball is tossed into the toy box. It goes through ball search about 4 times before it dumps the toy box. Happens about once every 4 games.
Quoted from Pin_Guy:No, you just copy them as is to your USB drive; the SPIKE system should not even attempt to flash if these files aren't correct. I've seen multiple load failures on Spike systems and non of them ever resulted in a dead system.
I tried to update the code last night without success. The PIN never seemed to recognized the files on the flash drive because it kept booting up as normal.
I took a brand new USB out of the package, formatted it FAT32. Download the zip file. Extracted the 3 files (.readme said there would only be 2 - nice Stern) to a folder. Copied the 3 files to the root of the USB. (there was still a folder on the USB which came from the formatting).
What did I do wrong?
I can post pictures of the files system later today.
How long should the code update take? Been sitting on the updating screen for 30 mins with 0 activity.
powered off/on again. starting loading now it's stuck at 728,883/793,397. lol
EDIT wow this is annoying as it keeps locking up at different intervals each time. Can't get through the entire update after 5 tries.
Quoted from tp:Did same to me. I had to do the one with verification and then it worked. Using the shortcut one it would always freeze.
I tried everything. Finally the 2nd attempt of full update it worked.
Then I thought something was wrong because my start button wasn't flashing. Remembered I had to set it to free play. lol
They did add a few menu settings because I wrote down what I had changed from defaults and the setting numbers were off a few here and there.
I still don't think the back in the saddle bug was fixed.
Quoted from swampfire:What’s that bug?
- Fixed a time out bug in "Back in the Saddle" where, during the "final shot(s)" sequence, the pop bumpers turned off the lit shot(s).
Quoted from raycasual:its in the backbox. youll need a hammer and 2 paper clips intertwined to daisy chain it to the remote control. clap twice and say “alexa free play.” good to go at that point!
I just beat the shit out of the backbox with a sledge hammer. Still not working.
Found it adj #39
Quoted from Bruce_Pickle:Is it just me or does the "hold the left flipper" for the super skill shot seem unnecessary?
I mean, you have to short plunge for both skill shots anyway, why make me hold the left flipper?
And while holding the left flipper the regular skill shot is still achievable.
Am I missing something? (other than remembering to hold the left flipper 90% of the time) :0
Cheers,
What is the super skill shot?
Is there a way to tweak the kickout of the elevator scoop? A lot of times it goes sdtm with the machine level. It seems that that scoop is screwed out really tight - 1 screw from the bottom and 2 from the top.
Quoted from Gogojohnnyquack:Mine did the same until I increased the power in the menu. It still isn't consistent but the ball hits enough of the left flipper that it is usually savable.
Yea that is probably what I should to do. It's more frustrating during MB when you're not necessarily watching the kick out from the elevator and you keep losing balls you shouldn't. I didn't bump the ball save up to 5 seconds after the kickout but I don't think that helps during MB.
Quoted from Gogojohnnyquack:http://tiltforums.com/t/aerosmith-rulesheet/2499
Hold the left flipper and short plunge so the ball falls to the right flipper. One of three shots will light - shoot the lit shot to score a Super Skill Shot worth (?) points and 2 Smart Missiles.
This is proving difficult because on a short plunge, the ball hits the top of the right sling and most times never makes it down to the flippers before it hits something to end the skill shot.
Loaded the new software.
It seems like now I have to complete the timer on every song. Before I thought if the ball drained before the timer finished I could select a different song on ball plunge. Now it makes me stay on the same song.
Is there a setting I need to put back?
Quoted from Spiderpin:The. (One of Three) shots are Center ramp, Left orbit or Crank it Up. Only one will be lite.
Update code is 1.07.0 and that's what you have.
My problem is the ball never comes down clean to a flipper on a short plunge. It usually hits something that ends the skill shot.
Quoted from Who-Dey:I know that the modes no longer end when you get close if you drain your ball like they used to.
BINGO
This is why I think it's a little harder now. You can't start another song when you drain (with time left). If you have a 5 ball game, that's a lot of songs you need to time out while playing as apposed to start a new song when start a new ball.
Quoted from KingBW:The 3 songs would auto complete at end of ball if you got 1 shot and crank it up. Not sure on a longer timer, but it does seem like it. Maybe just because the auto complete isn't there anymore. That makes Rats a lot harder and longer. They might be about 10 seconds longer ... not sure
Wasn't every song default 30 seconds? Hit CIU to add an additional 30 seconds.
Quoted from andre060:Personally I much MUCH prefer the new code - being able to resume the songs from where you left off means I actually have a shot at completing them.
Me too. Not to mention when you actually get the Medley MB, it's not a big disappointment. MMB old code was terrible.
