Quoted from Who-Dey:

Congrats on your new AS game! It is a killer game and you are going to love it.

Thanks who-dey I was originally going to get star wars premium which I still like but I decided to switch to Aerosmith and I am very happy with my decision really enjoying the game so far.

Quoted from rotordave:

No, that’s called “a win”
Take it with both hands.
Legitimate strategy.

I am really happy I found this out I will definitely be using this into my strategy for tournaments now.

#752 6 years ago

Glad you are enjoying the game, I really like my Pro model a lot and I don’t think I will ever get rid of it. The more you playnAS the more addicting it becomes. It’s not anything fancy code wise but the game is just fun and it shoots really good.

Quoted from PinMonk:

Got into test mode (diag) and do the ball trough test (I think it's labeled CLR with a picture of a ball) to see if it knows how many balls are in the trough as you eject each one in the test mode. Likely you have a loose-flaky opto and that test should help you visualize it.

The test works fine, but i notice that the ball very often hangs at the end of the ball through (top), see picture.

Any idea how to fix that ??

If the ball is not ejecting all the way out into the shooter lane maybe it’s just not ejecting hard enough. There should be a setting called ball trough eject setting in the adjustments menu. You could try raising that up a little and see what happens maybe.

Also have a look at the mechanism. Make sure it moves smoothly if not it should be easy enough to see why.

I’m not home right now so I can’t look for it but I will later.....sorry about that. I know GB has a trough reject power setting but I’m not sure about any of my other games. You could call Chaz at Stern and ask him what might be going on. They might be back to work today possibly?

Now I have an other problem. I only hear the bass and a summing tone from the backbox speaker

Any idea ?

I'd check to make sure that the coil eject isn't binding by manually moving it up and down to see if you feel any resistance. Also, did you change the coil pulse power to low on setting 43 of the main adjustments menu?

Open the backbox panel and follow the connections from the speaker panel back to the system board and see if they've come loose. Your cabinet speaker is giving the bass, but the cabinet speakers aren't working. So either an unplugged/loose wire or a blown amplifier chip.

I think the reject problem is sloved. I had installed a pu shooter lane protectors. I removed it and i had no problems till now.

For the sound, I checked the connection but they are all ok. The cabinet speaker works but not the backbox speakers. I think the CPU board has a damage

Hope my dealer can fix it soon

Use the cliffy shooter lane protectors and you won't have that problem, but your shooter lane will remain protected. Email him since they're not on his site yet. Email [email protected] and ask for Aerosmith shooter lane protector (and the toybox eject protector while you're at it) and he'll send you an invoice.

You might want to also check with pinball heaven and/or ministry of pinball since they're listed as carrying some of his stuff here:
http://www.passionforpinball.com/protectors.htm

On the sound, one other thought I had is did you change the settings at all for the music on the menus? I don't think it could strip out all the mid and high end, but maybe if you maxed out the setting it could...

Anyone have these issues on the pro?

1. 2 or more balls getting stuck in the elevator during MB
2. Ball gets tossed into the toy box and then the machine can't find another ball. After about 6 ball search sequences it dumps the toy box.

1. Yes. Happened to me once.

2. No. I would check the sensor/switch in the toy box.

2 has been reported numerous times. I don't recall the fix but search this thread or the other AS thread.

I had this issue when I got mine, it was a bad node board. Stern sent me a new one after I contacted my dealer.

Edit: The sound issue is what I was referring

I put some Mylar over the shooter lane and look how it holds

That is interesting, after reading that I put back the cpu board to my machine and voila my sound is back. I don’t know why, but the next time I have this problem I will unplug the node boards to See if they causes the problem

Thanks for the help

2. Ball gets tossed into the toy box and then the machine can't find another ball. After about 6 ball search sequences it dumps the toy box.

I'd suggest most likely cause of the fault is that it can't detect any balls in the trough.

Could be caused by a dodgy opto, but MUCH more likely the connectors to the boards on the trough have come lose, or oxidised. Simply disconnect and reconnect all of the connectors leading to those boards.
Happens on virtually ALL Sterns.

#768 6 years ago

#2 is a connector under the toy box. There are two of them under there, one of them has come loose, can't remember which one.

Reseat it and you are fine.

If you can't get to that, then make the ball lock virtual until you find someone to help you.

I just listed a nice Aerosmith Pro with Dirty Donnie inner cab decals and a few other amenities. You can see it here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/for-sale-aerosmith-pro-20
Thanks,

Seems that I have a bad cpu board

Hope that I a get a replacement very soon ...

Did anyone have a good color for powder coating the pro ? I think of a darker blue which will match with the cabinet but not so good with the playfield

Thx, it was done by a guy local to me, he is good and has a nice setup.. it's a really good look imo.. Yeah I know I need some scorecards...

Mine is a powder called disco nights, prismatic. It is a two stage with an ink black base, it looks navy blue from 6 feet away, it's really stunning.. I had a clear powder shot on the top as well to give a little depth..

That looks real cool. Does it mean first to powder in black and then the Disco night?

#784 6 years ago

Yeah, it's a bit of a process but looks great. My guy can do this color for others if anyone wants it he said, I can get a quote for anyone that wants it.. I had him do the speaker panel and coin door too..

My apologies, mine was the CPU board as well. Luckily the replacement fixed the issue and the game has been perfect since. Also there is a small jumper from c15 to a pin just to the right that wasn’t included on the new board from Stern that I needed to use from the old board. If your backbox LEDs don’t work that’s why.

I found the problem, it was a bad active subwoofer. Since I disconnected it, it works fine

Hi All, I've had my NIB Aerosmith Pro for about two months now and just this week it's started to make an annoying "buzz/beep" sound sometimes when selecting songs. (The best I can describe it is the sound similar to when a phone interferes with with a hi-fi system) I've done the obvious and checked all the connections. It's bearable, I just hope it's not leading to a bigger problem. Has anyone else had the same issue? Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks
PS- Have a laugh at my kitchen setup

Updating the code seemed to do the trick. My machine came with the same code I downloaded (1.03), but I've noticed a heap of more sounds since the update. (Crowd cheering mostly) Thanks for the beer tips and no, the glass doesn't fit inside the fridge (especially when there's beer in there) you funny buggers ?Cheers

Nah. Just open your fridge door and slide the last foot of the glass into the fridge when you take it off.

You’re welcome.

I was thinking the exact same thing, it's close enough to grab a beer while cradeling the ball

I was thinking if you got rid of the fridge completely you might be able to fit another game.
