I just picked up an Aerosmith pro. When Switched on it would start a game automatically without pressing the start button.
I did a switch test and the start button was flickering so I checked the switch. It seemed ok.
With the switch disconnected the switch was still being registered. So I switched the game off and removed the connector from the cabinet node board. Switch was still registering. Switched the game off and reconnected the connector but this time it came up node board 1 not found.
Anything I should be checking or has my cabinet node board checked out?

Quoted from wtatumjr:

I think you can start a game from the lock down button as well the start button. Make sure your problem is not there.

I did check this too.
Also I forgot to mention the previous owner remover an insider connected kit before it arrived here.

Quoted from wtatumjr:

I guess you have a multimeter. Set it to ohms, unplug connection at node board, then test for continuity at the 2 terminals of the start switch. If you have continuity the problem is in that piece of wire between the node board and switch, or the switch itself. If no continuity that leg is OK and the problem is between the node board and backbox. Be careful of the node plugs, it's very easy to replug one pin off which causes all sorts of problems.

I had already checked all that when I checked the switch. Unplugging the connector associated with that switch and still getting the phantom switch hits was pushing me to the board itself.
An update. I’ve swapped the node board with another from a working game. The issue follows the node board. The previous owner said he "may have removed items" from that particular node with the game switched on.
Looks like a new node board is in order.
