Hi Pinside,
I was looking for some advice in selling my TOM.

I own the Tom and it's pretty nice

Mods include
Led kit
Sub and speaker upgrade
ColorDMD
Slingshot light up rabbits (my favorite)
Gold chain trunk
Light up marque
Led magic wand
Spinning card in hat (no longer spins)
Gold spinning tiger saw

Cabinet is original and in excellent shape.
Ramps and plastics are in great shape with no damaged pieces.

The bad

Translite is not perfect BAA has them for about $100
Trunk is cracked but I have a nos to replace it
Playfeild had minor wear on the illusions and the previous owner made an overlay and then mylared over it. Looks good.

I also have a Nos playfeild that has been touched up by Ron Kruzman uninstalled.
A real beauty.

My question is should I sell the machine as is and the play field separate?
Or
Sell them together?
Or
Do the swap and sell the old PF and translite separate?
If I go this route the game will be near perfect.

Any price recommendations or offers appreciated.
Mainly looking for cash to fund a van right now though I am interested in TAF and Metallica (all models except the road case premium)

Thanks Pinside
John

I think you would do much better selling the nos playfield separate. The additional money you would get with the nos playfield installed, you would lose in what you could have gotten selling the PF separate, not to mention the crazy amount of time invested in the swap.

Thanks that seems reasonable

A client of mine just a couple months ago bought a TOM similar in description to yours from another Pinsider. It did not have the color dmd and there were a couple small dings on the cabinet on one side but the play field was close to perfect. I think the price was $4,500.

I agree you should sell the play field separate.

Thanks Tiger,
That's pretty darn close to what I was thinking
5k with the colordmd is what I had in mind
