Quoted from HOOKED:Elvis Gold suffers from lowest bidder brass aka gold plate.
Removing the trim and sending it out is easy and will cost 5-600 round trip.
That would be reusing your rails, lock down and hinges and then rebuy legs from http://www.pinballplating.com/new-parts/stern
If you have any dents or dings just go with new stuff.
Gold run has no difference from standard machines so I would offer him the going rate for a standard and go from there.
If they come back with a higher number print out the refurbish cost and see where they land.
I have owned Elvis since 2008 and I don't see it ever leaving the building. Very under rated SR table that is a easy rule set to understand and the shots feel great. It suffers having only sections of looped songs but there are aftermarket options for better music out there.
This is pretty good advice.
Personally I wouldn’t bother refinishing any of that stuff, who cares? You’ll probably
Sell the game in a year anyway and you probably Won’t get your refinish $ out of it. I’ve had tarnished gold hardware guitars and they looked pretty cool to me.
Still good to point out to the seller as previous poster said.
