I know that I am responding to an older post, but it may help someone
in the future with the same questions...
You do not have to remove the hotel.
Remove all the support screws that are obvious from above. There is one that
is a bit difficult to get to, especially to put the nut back on, but it
should be easy to find the 6 or so mounting screws. When the playfield is
loose it can be lifted on the left side and rotated out from under the hotel
and freed.
To remove the flipper bat, you need to go under the playfield and you
will see that the flipper shaft extends down through to a clamp and
the flipper coil mechanism. Loosen the nut on the clamp a bit and you
can free and remove the bat. Take notice as you do that there is a
tube spacer below a large plastic grommet that surrounds the bat at
the upper playfield. If you just work the bat loose all these pieces
will go sliding out but it's not hard to get everything back in
place. When you reassemble everything, unlike standard flippers there
is no alignment hole. Just position the flipper almost touching its
backstop on the playfield and tighten the clamp nut securely.
This advice was provided to me many years ago on rec.games.pinball
by Carl Lizza, and it was very helpful.
