Advice - fixing hole on Shadow playfield

So I "fixed" this about 3 years ago using quick wood and it didn't hold up due to the strength of the magnet. It started chipping away a little at a time under the Mylar.

What is the best method to fill this in? I want this fix to hold up for a long time.
