Best recommendation i can offer is to go with the theme and gameplay that you and your fam likes the best. I wouldnt put as much emphasis on new vs old. All games are subject to issues. Old doesnt mean not maintained or unreliable. New doesnt mean trouble free. The first pin i bought and still own is over 20 years old now. And ive done nothing but change batteries on it in 4 years. theres a tremendous amount of support available for old games (Pinside Community).
