That bent middle switch only completes the circuit from the replay button on the front door to the S relay to start the game. It shouldn't effect the replay unit from stepping up to add credits to the machine nor stop the knocker from firing. You should still be getting credits and hearing the knocker. If not, someone may have tampered with your machine to disable their operation.

The switch at the top of the stack is the max credit switch and must be closed if you're going to add credits of any kind. In your picture it is open. That will prevent your credit unit from adding credits. There is a peg on the gear that will open that switch when you max the credit wheel out. Adjust it so it is closed, then step the credit wheel up to make sure that it opens at max credits, which is usually 15.

Then manually test the game to make sure specials/high scores are adding credits.
