It comes with pretty good instructions, just tells you what number the bulb is and you can match that up with the manual to find out where it goes. I had to unscrew a bunch of the bulb holders from the bottom of the playfield to replace them, but it was easy. Some bulbs were difficult to remove, have to be careful with your hands when the bulb suddenly comes loose and you are really pulling on it. It took me around 2-3 hours to replace all the bulbs. Setting up the spot lights and led strips was very easy as well. The pinballbulbs lights are all non ghosting. I allow dimming because I really like the effect for blackout, nuclear meltdown and air raid. The bulbs do flicker when dimmed, but I think it's worth it, doesn't bother me. After installing the led's I really couldn't imagine going back, the difference is drastic. You can really see what is lit a lot better, especially the crime scene lights which I found a lot harder to see before the swap.
