interesting chat... here is what I learned over the years that people might find interesting

Flipper gap - is Trudeau's signature flipper gap measured at the flipper posts - 7" being the standard and Trudeau's being 7 1/8". What makes it worse is the first 6-9 months Stern sent the games out with the flippers tilted more down than the in-lane feeds which effectively increased the gap:

and this one with messages when I chatted to Trudeau before we were aware of what happened with him:

Airballs - are a result of the target height and target angle and the rivet on the target - and also the pan angle which we can not doing anything about - see this post:

Flipper extenders - I tried this and very hard to 3d print as to insert just an 1/8" extension, it has to be printed so it tappers to nothing otherwise you get a gap on the front and back and affects play - has to be professionally printed and even then they don't allow to taper to nothing so I did custom flipper bats.

Custom Flippers - The Germany companies approach is nice and look more professional than my design but my design allowed for quick flipper bat swap overs:

Outlane Drains - Trudeau also confirmed that the small rails were installed too low on the first 6-9 months of games resulting in excessive skip over the lanes. But if you go into you switch audits you can see that the ball drains alot out of the out-lanes and it isn't a kid and or visitor friendly game so I created a foot operated proton gun mod. Currently worked on an integrated upgrade add-on so all going well the mod will be a earned feature.

Quoted from metallik:

Increases the gap at rest but they actually wind up closer when held up. Most importantly, the smallest gap (when they're directly parallel during the actual flip) remains exactly the same. You compensate by doing your flip/move/slapsave a hair earlier to make up for the droop. The droop itself is necessary to make the extreme side shots consistently makable (see also: Elwin games).
Also, aren't the carrots only 1/16" longer, making the total gap reduction 1/8"? If they were 1/8" longer you're cutting 1/4" from the gap, which sounds pretty extreme to me.

still 7 1/8" between flipper posts which is standard Trudeau

1/8" longer is just an option especially if you still want the droop - something is better than nothing
