So for Christmas this year, I bought myself a set of Stern factory side-armor for my BM 66 premium.
I have 2 questions for those that have done this modification already...

1- Did you add pinstripes to it? If so, real paint or stripe tape?
2- To mount it, the instructions generically say to remove the existing part & hardware, and replace with the new parts.
There are additional holes on the bat wing armor, that there are NOT holes pre-drilled in the existing cabinet. Did you drill your cabnet
and insert screws/bolts?
Thanks for any input.
Mike

I installed these and really like them. I left mine stock. There are a couple of holes in the bottom of the armor that don't have a predrilled hole in the cabinet. I debated whether to even put those screws in but ultimately decided it looked better with the screws; it wasn't a big deal. Congrats, I think it really improves the look of the machine.

If you go with the additional screws Mike and I would, just drill a small pilot hole, only go a few mm deep don't drill all the way through into the cabinet, you only need to give your something to get the tip of the screws in and you should be good to go.

OK, thanks for the tips.....i got over my fear of drilling pretty quickly and installed the wings today.
If I decide to stripe them, I can take them back off....but they look pretty good as they are.
Love it!!!

Looks sharp! Where did you get your art blades? Not sure I've seen that style before.

Just a side note. I bought my armor from an aftermarket maker. They were cheaper than Stern's and also came with laser cut backbox hinges. I'm sure if you want to add the hinges he may sell them separately to you.

I am interested in the hinges. Can you send a link?
