I'm wanting to add a couple LED lamps to a controlled insert lamp, so that when the playfield lamp lights, so do my added lamps.
I'm in the middle of making a topper for one of my machines and want the topper lights to light up when the playfield light does. When the topper is done, I'll have 1 set of additional LEDS each tied into 5 individually controlled playfield lamps. Each pair of LEDS will be "daisy chained" in each circuit.
The questions I have are:
#1 I'm guessing I'll need to add a diode to the positive side of the circuit before the 1st lamp socket of the daisy chain. What size diode should I use?
#2 I'm wanting to use CAT5 wiring. Do you think the really small size wiring will be sufficient, or should I use something bigger...maybe 20 or 22 gage wire?
Thanks for the help.
