It isn't really a "mod" but as good a place as any to post. Today I was doing some cleaning and bulb replacement on my AC/DC Premium. I was putting a really slick coat of wax in the bell lane and noticed that the aluminum walls looked pretty dull. Thinking I could improve the ball speed if I reduce the drag I grab some mag wheel polish and taped off the play field and went to work. After a few minutes it looked pretty nice so I moved out to the other lanes and did those, it really made a difference as seen here:

I also did the metal at the base of the ramps but I still need to do the ramp walls. In the "after" picture you can see the bell lane walls

I'm really please with the results

They look like mini mirror blades. Those are stainless steel not aluminum.

Wow - great idea & looks sweet!

Dooh you are right, I said that because they looked so dull it was almost like aluminum oxidization.

So did you hand polish or Dremmel polish them? Either way, it looks great!

Thanks
It was a combo but mostly by hand, it really doesn't take that much effort (I used to poilsh up stuff on my Harley all the time). I worried about slinging the polish all over or damaging stuff so I used a Dremmel with a buffing wheel only where it was hard to get my hands. I used the tape to keep the metal polish off the clear coat no matter what method I used.
I do plan to finish more and when I do I will strip down the playfield a bit more so if and when I grab the Dremmel I don't worry about catching an edge and bouncing off into the plastics.

The shine on the walls are amazingly reflective. What specific mag wheel polish did you use?

Sometime last year I remember reading a forum post about sprucing up the dull metal, but they took the metal ramps off the playfield before polishing. Which is a lot more trouble and why I haven't polished my metal ramps or plates to date. I prefer the in-situ polishing instead.

I have used this HD metal polish and it also does a great job.
