My TAF has been shutting down unexpectedly for the past week. I have boiled it down to when both flippers are pressed at the same time. The game will shut of and will come right back on in a few seconds. In anyone's experience is this a voltage problem?? Are the coils possibly drawing too much power? I have also read that a dip in voltage could cause this, reading voltage at the switch while game is being played reveals slight dips but nothing significant (115-112 volts). Any help would be appreciated.

Go through the steps on pinwiki that ForceFlow provided and post back here if you have any questions.

I had the same issue on my machine and followed the steps. Ended up being the thermistor (section 4.14.12). Very easy and cheap to replace. Hopefully your situation is the same.

Mine used to do the same. Bought one of these and been a year without a reset.

Reset board.

Reset board.

Keep in mind, that just bypasses whatever the actual problem is in many cases. It's best to try to troubleshoot thoroughly.

Absolutely, it's just a band-aid.

I would immediately discount the sales price of any game I found with the reset board installed since I would have to troubleshoot and fix the actual problem.

I found the time yesterday to go through the list. It wasn't the thermistor as it reset even when bypassed. I went down the list about half way and decided to test. It doesn't reset anymore! Not sure which step was the problem but I really appreciate the link to solve the issue.

A lot of times the connecters on the boards just need to be reseated.

Glad to hear the problem is solved.
