A friend of mine showed me a drumstick is the proper height. Probably not exact, but it's worked for me every time. I have a couple scraps of cut up drumstick in my tool bag and use them as a guide.
If you have a lot of diodes or resistors to bend I find these useful. There is also one on Thingiverse if you have access to a 3d printer. It helps make them a lot more uniform. Also, I think you may have them on the wrong side of the board. Edit: Maybe you have it correct, I guess it doesn't matter as long as it's facing the correct direction. I would think it would go where the screening is.
This is one of my favorite threads going. The audacity to tackle something of this magnitude with very little prior experience, showing the mistakes along the way, I'm really enjoying it. I'm rooting for you. Keep it up!

I can see that, scaffolding of the roller coaster. Judging by the elaborate holes, I doubt it's pinball related. Tell the guy you got something extra, now I need to know what it is!

will also have to mark all the lights I have installed in the manul so I can figure out where the remaining 555's go. starting to get a little confusing in there ;o).
I think while wading through all of the posts that don't necessarily directly apply to your project you will find a lot of useful information that may help down the line. Plus it's a great thread!
I have to admit I was concerned about the wiring harness. That would have been quite a task for someone experienced. Are there any more unobtanium parts you are missing?

Double check all the ribbon cables. Make sure the red line is on pin #1 labeled on the board on both ends. It's very easy to miss a row on these ribbon cables too, I've done it many times. Post some close up pics, I bet someone will see something.
