Quoted from Shredder565:

It's on the list of things I never seem to get around to doing. Got it afew months back and still haven't played around with it. luckily, I'm surrounded by people who do . I'll have them check it with it tomorrow. Today was 'company meeting' that took up most of the day :/.
Also, other things I create in my spare time.
Also 4 months work

Excellent!!

Quoted from Shredder565:

also, never bought from mouser electronics before. this a good place to get extension wire? still need the right yellow for the lights. Jameco was ok, but shipping took about 6 days.

Mouser is great.

I wanted to send you something to contribute to this build - I have a flasher PCB.

Send me a PM and I will mail you one of them.

Quoted from Jmckune:

If your molex pins are popping out, either you aren’t inserting them all the way or you’re trying to do so upside down. You should hear and audible click when the pin is in the right position. It will not come out easily once it clicks.

More than likely it is with the crimp itself.

Shredder565 It is hard to appreciate but there are features on these pins designed to prevent them from advancing and backing out of the housing - you are probably crushing these with the crimper (unless it is a molex branded crimper).

Examine these pins carefully up close (those failed vs new uncrimped pins).

Quoted from frisbez:

Crimper is fine. Technique could probably use some work. Notice in the crimped pins posted above how they wrap tightly around the wire insulation and even constricts it a bit.
Compared to the pictures you posted where the wings on the pin are not making good contact with the wire- barely hanging on. Not a problem currently but over time it definitely will be.

I have done more than 9,400 crimps in the past year alone for homebrew, knocker kits and my reproduction toppers... I pointed out he is crushing the terminal stop and locking tang in the transition section of the pin but to no avail.

Learn the anatomy and terminology of molex connectors. Watch videos, practice on spare wire, get it done perfectly with accuracy and precision, then start working on the real deal.

He will get this done some day and hopefully have more joy playing TAF than anyone.

Now Im letting it burn-in for a few hours.
Its impressive to say the least!
Dollar for dollar, its about the same price as buying everything new including ColorDMD and lighted speakers.
