The back box lights likely go into j-121.

check the schematic to be sure.

J-121 or the one above it. They're the same.

Did you get the cage nuts for installing the wire fence?

#3611 11 months ago

not yet. I still need to get those and the stand offs from lowes mentioned a few pages back. if I can get them all in one go, I'll go thursday and try and get this bottom half done.

Marco has the cage nuts as well as amazon:
https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/20-9601

https://www.amazon.com/Pack-8-32-Self-Retaining-Cage-Nuts/dp/B07TTJLBRZ/ref=sr_1_4

Paint them black or use self etching primer for durability:
https://www.amazon.com/SEM-39673-Black-Etching-Primer/dp/B000PKZ3IY/ref=sr_1_2

Just to slow you down a bit, you need 2 of these, if your apron didnt come with them:

apron speed nut (resized).jpgapron speed nut (resized).jpg
J-Type Tinnerman speednut, Bally part number 20-9041.

Easy to get from a fastener shop, "IF" you have a sample.

These guys claim to have them:

https://avo-pinball.de/Tinnerman-Speed-Nut_1

Pinrestore.com was my goto for these but sadly they are gone.

the middle one is a little off kilter, but it's tough too get these things straight without creashing them.

Soak it with soapy water, carefully peel it off and do it again.

Apply with 1tsp dawn to 1qt water. squeegee off the excess when in position.

Use a plastic razor blade to remove and position

He had the apron powder coated locally in 60% gloss, stock prismatic plain black (satin)

I have all my powder coating done locally, it less expensive and there are no shipping damages to deal with.

Use these decals, they are better:

I'm pretty sure I got them at Marco.

Chroming was done at coat of chrome in PA and the powder coating a business next too it.

Check those apron mounting brackets. The one on the right needs to be installed in the correct spot before you'll be able to mount that apron. See my previous post:

Quoted from Gornkleschnitzer:

Also, check your apron mount brackets. Looking at the playfield from a normal player's position, look forward and left of the flippers; note the somewhat-flat bracket mounted to the playfield. That one is correct; however, there is supposed to be an identical one in the same place on the right-hand side, right behind the trough walls. You have that one mounted down in the bottom right corner, which is actually where the plunger gauge is supposed to go. (Plunger gauge is the second "apron" piece that goes over the plunger, holds the ball in place to launch, and has a little cutout so you can see how far you pull it back.)

yes, I remember this post. This, along with getting some wireforms properly installed so they don't fall out when the thing flips over, is my next step.
Also, guess I really do need a battery pack too get the backboard lights working. and I don't have one damn extra one around :/.

OK, properly submitted. one drawback of not having a machine to see before hand, mistakes can be made .
Now, the little wire form in the trough I can't seem too insert properly. it keeps falling out when flipping over.

The ball gate in the trough is "stopped" in position by the apron. The end of the wire hits the under-surface of the apron as a "stop".

Yes it can flip over when the apron is removed. Just flip it back so that it works as a one way gate.

#3626 11 months ago

Disregard, didn't realize the trough ball gate was already being discussed.

Most flashers use these socket assemblies and "twist-on" domes, so that you can replace the burned out bulbs from the top:
light domes - 6 twist-in (resized).jpglight domes - 6 twist-in (resized).jpg
Receptacle and Socket A-14265-13 (resized).jpgReceptacle and Socket A-14265-13 (resized).jpg
You mostly see them in corner plastics and areas that you cant reach underneath easily.

https://www.pinballlife.com/receptacle-and-socket-clear.html

Check your BOM sheet for quantities.

there are 3 on plastic assemblies. then there are also 3 in the backbox to light up the cloud. however those are still a single flash board but a different part number.

There might be only one of those in the game?

Awesome! I was thinking the same areas.

So, 3 of the little boards should solve Shredder565 needs.

Davi sent me 6 boards "just in case".

Ill have to get Shredder565 1 more.

Yep, dont be afraid of setting the dimples deeply. It helps a lot.

A sharp nail set or a good awl works very good.
