I've been putting this restoration off for years and finally was able to finish the game over the last couple months. This is a brand new cabinet from Big Time Cabinets that I was saving for several years. Playfield Restorations did the playfield restoration many years ago and I've been saving for this project. Just about every part is new on the game, restored, chromed or powder coated. Too many new parts to mention as if would take a couple pages to describe. Enjoy!!

Put the best Fester you can find in that chair and you're done!! Amazing

#3 3 years ago

As good as it gets! Beautiful game! Now sit back and enjoy all the efforts you put into it.

#4 3 years ago

Yup gorgeous! I wonder if Big Time Cabinets are still in business? Can't find much recent on them.

#5 3 years ago

Drooooool.................
Beautiful work Dan!

#6 3 years ago

Oh your only 4 hours away maybe I could come over and help to stare at it. Not a gamed to be played anymore.

It's so beautiful!

#7 3 years ago

VERY NICE!!!!

#8 3 years ago

Excellent work!

#9 3 years ago

Beautiful game! I would also install NVRAM or remote battery holder to prevent the possibility of battery leakage on the CPU board.

#10 3 years ago

Looks sharp! Hope mine looks that nice when I'm done.

Hi Dan,

That is very, very nice work on your TAF. It is absolutely beautiful. You may want to add a Mantis protector to the electric chair scoop hole to keep it in its current pristine state. Scroll to the bottom of the URL below.

They went out of business many years ago. They were absolutely the best at cabinets!!

Beautiful work indeed. Just as good as the top restorers out there.

Dan LOVE IT!!!!! Better than new or restored or gold or LE! ITS........TAF DE....... (("Dan Edition" -(Not to be confused with data east...))!!!!!

Your attention to detail is Amazing!!!

Still love your Funhouse DE the BEST but this shows your true dedication and skill to restoring machines!!!!!!!

PS-YES "DE" is a thing now....

#19 3 years ago

The pictures don't do it enough justice. This thing plays so smooth (only played about 4 games on it to get everything working correctly). I always love to restore a turd and that's what this game was. It takes a lot of work and generally I don't like to do back to back restores as they are very time comsuming.

Thanks for all the kudos and I do like the DE phrase!!

Dan

How much?

#21 3 years ago

Not sure what the market is for a game of this caliber. Just about every part available is new.

It looks beautiful. Good job.

On a side note, you're about 5 minutes from my house.

We have a league in Harrisburg if you're interested.

Nice game man !!!!

When Big Time cabinets were available, there were only two methods to protect the leg areas. Pin Cab protectors or felt. The cabinet was set up standing with Pin Cab protectors since I bought. The new Stern leg protectors would have been nice to have back then.

Congrats on a beautiful TAF! I broke mine down to restore 8 years ago and it came to a halt when the kids came along. I look forward to the day mine is back together again all pretty and shiny! Enjoy!

Dan

Put them on now and then put the plastic on...that way it will be off the decals

Awesome job Dan. I still have the MM and TZ you did for me but the AFM is gone. I decided to sell off most of my stuff and I'm almost there. But I wouldn't mind if one of the two you did for me remains. All the best. Ant.

Dude, sick. Enjoy!!

Dan. Selling off and might be able to keep either your MM or TZ. Which would you pick? Ant.

That's a tough choice Ant!! I believe the TZ with the 3rd magnet might be a deeper game and harder to replace. MM or MMRE are very plentiful now that they made the remake and at a decent price.

Great point. Thanks.

Curious how the CAUTION decals and "inspected by #3" stickers were done on the lockdown bar receiver. Is there a place to buy this or did you have to print them yourself?

Treasure Cove sells the complete decal kit for a restoration.
