All,

This one has me stumped. I did a playfield swap on a TAF and this is the only remaining issue albeit a big one. I bought this game a year ago and have no idea if this issue was present back then before the playfield swap. (was in a spot where I had about 15 minutes to remove it from a closed down pizza shop so didn't have time to much more than see if the thing booted). I've done a number of playfield swaps over the years and this is the first with such an oversize gremlin.

The only lamps that are working properly are thing flips, 2 bear kicks, cousin it, all pop bumpers and electric chair red light. Every other lamp in the game is causing at least one other lamp to light and in some cases 3. Here's a partial list of what I'm seeing during single lamp test:

Thing Multiball is also lighting up upper left bumper
Credit Button is also lighting thing flips and faintly blinking the backbox *THIN (doesn't go past the N)
Thing R Star is also lighting up 2 bear kicks and *THIN
Thing G is also lighting up cousin it and *THIN
Thing N is also lighting up lower left bumper and *THIN
Thing I is also lighting up middle right bumper and *THIN
Thing L star is also lighting up middle right bumper and *THIN
Superjackpot is also lighting up cousin it
Light Star is also lighting up lower left bumper
swamp lock is also lighting up cousin it
and a fun one - #76 not used is also lighting up cousin it
there are a lot more than that but you likely get the idea

Here's what I know so far:

no diode shorts
plugs in correct spots on driver board
driver board is ok (same results on working old driver board and new rottendog)
no physical shorts in ordered lamps (metal touching metal)
uncle fester is installed correctly
disconnected chair lights, thing lights and vault lights to no avail
I disconnected all circuit board lights (mounted on board) to no avail
disconnected the start button lamp to no avail
reflowed the solder on the coin door aux board in the cabinet
All new ribbon cables + tried several from CPU to driver to no avail

When I used to see issues like this it was generally a plug in the wrong spot (I usually find the more complex the issue the easier the solution) but that didn't work for me this time. Aside from holy water I'm not sure where to go from here. Hopefully someone has seen something like this before on a WPC89.

Thanks for any help!

Shane
