Just bought my first pinball machine! I'm new to ownership but am excited to get under the hood and get it dialed in. I'm glad to have joined this awesome community of such knowledgeable people! I'm hoping to get some input on an issue I'm having with my new pride and joy.

I played this Addams Family machine for an hour at the previous owners house and had no issues. As soon as I bought it and moved it to my house I had some issues with the kickout. After hitting the start button the kickout pops a ball out to the shooter lane like normal, but then for some reason kicks out another ball. I removed a ball out of the lane and played with the glass off and it was functional but would never start a Multiball even after several locks more than required. I asked the former owner and he said he remembered that it did it a while back but it fixed itself and never happened again... till now. Anyone have any ideas? I did a switch test and they all responded. Appreciate your time!

Thanks for reply! I have 3 balls and they are in the trough.... I got some info on checking trough switches. There are 3. Left, Center, and Right. When the troughs are empty and I use my finger to close switches, the left and right trough switches both work correctly. But when I close the middle trough switch, the switch test shows both left and center trough closed. I'm assuming this is the problem. Do I just change the switch, or is there a deeper problem you think?

Thanks again,
Greg

Quoted from zaza:

mechanical: when center switch arm is pushed down, does it activated the left arm as well ?
electronical: diode with wrong orientation or switch wrong wired ?

Correct! The center switch arm when pushed down activates both center and left... As for wrong orientation, it has worked correctly for years, so I assume it was correct? Do diodes go bad? Yesterday I watched left trough switch test toggle between open and closed when I was no where near the machine. It would switch open/closed rapidly like it was flaky. I touched all connections to see if the solder had broken, seemed fine. I couldn't aggravate or help by poking and probing the connections. Gonna swap out both switches just to see. They are so cheap I might as well give it a try.
